It’s nearly summer – although you can’t tell from the RAIN outside. My skin is still as dry as anything but as it warms up, I find more and more use for pretty powders.
I purchased 2 powders from Skinfood a while ago but have only just had the chance to open them to give them a go! They are both sunny themed – one is a bronzer (pretty rare where Korean or indeed Asian brands are concerned) and the other is a SPF face powder (‘Pact’):
I introduce the Seaweed Shining Bronzer Pact and Red Orange Sun Pact SPF 50+. So one is for setting make up, absorbing oil and protecting from the sun, the other is to bronze yourself up! I like the packaging for both – what about you?
First off, let’s look at the Red Orange Sun Pact. In case you didn’t know Skinfood is a Korean brand who makes skincare and cosmetics. All of their products are related to food in some way – some are plain weird like Black Garlic or Cheese, some are far more nice like Black Sugar or Bananas!
Red orange is a very nice one. This powder is a translucent whitish hue with the scent of tangy oranges which is lovely. The packaging is clever, with a flip up plastic lid which protects the mirror.
I’ve used this a few times as a very light setting powder and it works quite well although I feel that you can see the whitish element to it – so if you are olive or dark skinned, I think this will look ashy and totally forget it if you want to appear in photos! But pale girls will fair better.
I like the fact is has high SPF but could it realistically be the only SPF you have in sunny weather – nah, I wouldn’t put my faith in this powder for that. After all for a natural effect you should only be applying a small amount.
The Seaweed collection from Skinfood caught my eye right away – I love the quirky ranges (this selection also has a waterproof mascara, some waterproof eyeliners etc – the emphasis on summery make up).
There aren’t a ton of true bronzers on the Asian market – indeed, most women over there prefer to be pale and interesting.
This is the colour of the bronzer:
I detected orange in it at first sight but actually it’s a really nice natural warming powder. It is quite sheer, has a faint shimmer and is somewhere inbetween peach and brown. It’s very nice and on most complexions will comes across as a warm bronzy glow.
It comes with this brush:
Here are the swatches – I would plump for the bronzer as being a pretty blush, I wouldn’t use it to contour, and the sun pact I would use in the summer very lightly on my t-zone only.
All in all, just some quirky little finds from eBay!
Would you try either of these powders?

Hi Row,
Really exciting to me that the skincare powder can protect me but how can I get it. Have you any beauty videos about it where I can get more information about it.
Thanks and have a very nice day.
