I’m not really looking for the ‘dream’ gel eyeliner – because I have tried many and most of them are pretty good anyway. The price and textures may vary but I don’t think I have ever tried a really hideously bad black gel eyeliner.

I like Bobbi Brown Gel liner a lot, Maybelline for value for money, Heavy Rotation for a matter finish, Etude House for colourful fun, Lunasol for every day….the list goes on and on.

Nevertheless I purchased another to trial run:

Wet ‘n’ Wild Mega Eyes Creme Eyeliner. The Wet ‘n’ Wild eyeshadows (Color Icon) are absolutely amazing which is why I bought this eyeliner too. It comes in a strangely shaped domed pot and comes with a mini brush which feels more like a brow brush to me because it’s quite chunky (you won’t get any fine lines with this) plus it’s quite rough feeling.

The packaging looks fine, it does feel quite cheap with a plastic lid.

The product although brand new looked like it had dried up a bit as you can see how it has started to shrink and come away from the sides. It was sealed up tight though, so some air seems to have got to it regardless.

The pigmentation with the gel/creme eyeliner is excellent – can’t fault that and when dry, the finish is somewhere between matte and glossy – which is not a bad place to be! It has a wetter texture than a lot of gel liners I own – this means it takes a bit longer to dry but some people may prefer this…

It’s not the best gel liner I have every used…it does take a while to set and fades towards the end of the day but the pigmentation is good and if you have a decent brush it’s not hard to apply. I paid about £5 for this with shipping but I am sure it’s much cheaper in the US.

Verdict:

Worth a go if you are looking for a bargain gel eyeliner with lots of pigment.

I have tried this liner. I liked it but it dried out SUPER fast, I think due to the lid.

Hi Phyrra

That might explain why my eyeliner was brand new but had started to dry out! A design fault!
