As I am finally going on holiday soon I have been testing out loads of different kinds of hair removal products. It’s amazing how much choice there is out there these days – home hair removal seems to be split into razors, hair removal creams and waxes.

In the salon I have ventured as far as threading (which I have now decided is too much for my sensitive skin which goes red and sore for long afterwards) but never waxing. I do feel like I can do it at home quickly and cheaply, although there is always the issue of inflicting pain on oneself…

But I digress….

Veet High Precision Facial Wax seems like a fantastic idea. In a lip gloss style tube lies the wax, suitable for sensitive skin, and you get re-usuable strips and a orange stick type thing for spreading the wax.

They say:

New Veet High Precision Facial Wax is designed for women who want beauty and perfection. The easy application of this professional quality wax, will rid you of facial hair. It is ideal for shaping eyebrows and removing hair from the upper lip.

This product is certainly good at the precision part.

The tube and the stick means it’s easier to apply to the brows and the upper lip.

It’s definitely easier to move around than using a waxing strip for the face. It’s also quite a gentle product – some wax makes my skin sting right away but not this one.

However – the bad news?

I found it quite tricky to work…

When using this product, I found it tricky to get all the hair off. I used it for the fine hairs above the brow and whilst it didn’t hurt half as much as some other products I’ve used on the face, I found it took about 50% of the hair off so I had to go over the area again.

Verdict:

It’s a great idea, but it felt like the wax wasn’t quite adhesive enough – I have to say the result was not as as clean as I’ve liked.

Ingredients:

Hydrolyzed Wheat Starch, Glucose, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Almond Oil PEG-8 Esters, Aqua

I tried this too, but it didn’t work for me at all. It remove something like 5% of the hair, home-made sugaring paste is much more efficient (plus it’s way cheaper and absolutely non-toxic).

I was super excited to read this review and could not wait for someone to try it. even better since it’s you. I can’t get past this idea of ‘inflicting pain’ on yourself but could have possibly maybe envisaged the possibilty of perhaps potentially buying it but since it’s not even working properly, i shall not bother. full marks for the applicator. super impressed by that. for now, all i can picture is myself applying some of the waxy glue, trying to pluck the courage to peel it off, counting to 3, then counting to 10, then to 30. Then playing bejewelled on my fancy phone, all this to delay the moment when i finally need to peel it off.
i can’t do it.

I too have tried it but wont be buying it again for the same reasons as you. I will go back to the little pot I heat up on the stove… much more effective!
