I need more foundation like I need a hole in the head (no comment) but nevertheless, as soon as I saw this Dr Perricone product, the No Foundation Foundation, I knew I had to try it…

No Foundation Foundation - Targeted Care - Regimens - Perricone MD.jpg

It’s a foundation thats not a foundation – well, it sort of is, but more of a tinted moisturiser. It contains a high SPF and is supposed to be suitable for the most sensitive skin types.

There is just one universal shade:

The product also contains DMAE and Alpha Lipoic Acid – anti ageing ingredients…so I guess its supposed to be an all in one product. Its not cheap though £41 – so is it worth it?

They say:
No Foundation Foundation
The first advanced anti-aging translucent foundation.
With DMAE and Alpha Lipoic Acid.

This unique formula delivers many benefits of a traditional foundation without the heavy matte finish..[its a] multi-purpose product that provides natural translucent coverage, corrects skin undertones, instantly smoothes fine lines and boosts skin’s natural moisture throughout the day, all the while delivering antioxidant benefits.

So the base comes in this little glass jar – you get 30ml which for some reason doesn’t feel like a lot but its pretty standard to get 30ml of base. You also get a pump with this so you don’t need to use a straw or something to get it out in the morning.

Here is the base. Remember this is a universal shade. Its quite sheer and light but nevertheless, if your skin is a lot lot lighter or a lot lot darker I am not sure it will blend in seamlessly. Its quite close to my skintone which is quite warm so on someone very pale I suspect it could look a little orange:

It did feel lovely on my skin, blended in and added a gorgeous soft glow. I love the fact it is an everything base – light cover, anti ageing properties, SPF which is great.

Cons:

- Its expensive

- I get the feeling the bottle will get annoying to get everything out of once it starts to run out

- The shade I doubt, is completely universal

- Cover is sheer so no good if you need medium-heavy coverage

Pros:

- Its a no brainer in the morning

- I have noticed my skin texture etc. looking better when using this product

- It leaves a natural, glowy finish

- It has the high SPF

Overall I think this is a fabulous product! It has its downsides but for someone like me, who is always in a rush, its perfect and it is also improving my skin condition meaning I will hopefully be able to use less base in the future.

Finally! A review where you get to see the actual product on the face! I think this isn’t for me as it is quite expensive and sheer for my liking. It does look good on you though!

the packaging grosses me a little though- it looks like a medicine bottle.

I’d really love to try Dr Perricone MD but I can’t afford it at this time. And, I’m also pretty young so the anti-ageing benefits aren’t beneficial :P Maybe in 3 – 5 years!
