I don’t review perfumes that often review because I am no expert, and also I only have about 8 on my dressing table and they are all quite well known branded ones (Chloe, Marc Jacobs Lola, Chanel No. 5 (light version), YSL Parisienne, Stella, Viktor and Rolf etc.). I’m not madly creative when it comes to scent.
So I was interested to try Elemis’s Eau de Parfum Exotic;
Warm Top Notes: Pink Pepper, Clove Bud and Cinnamon Bark
Precious Floral Heart Notes: Ylang Ylang, Tuberose, Indian Jasmine Sambac
Woody Base Notes: Cedarwood, Somali Incense, Sandalwood
This scent comes in a little purple velvet pouch, and is, rather lovely. I guess I find it quite overwhelmingly a floral scent, quite traditional but not old fashioned. It’s like something you could wear daily and would make people turn their heads when they get a little whiff.
It also smells better I think, after a little while when the floral-ness subsides and there’s a warm, fuzzy smell left on the skin. I know, I’ll win awards for this description. All I can say it’s one I will add to the small circle of regularly used perfumes (or maybe I’ll keep it in my bag because it comes with a carry pouch?!)
This scent is on sale from September 2010 at Elemis spas and counters, or at Time to Spa.
