A few weeks ago I bought some new skincare from Lush and it’s all been pretty well used so here are some speed reviews of the products!
I don’t know what possessed me to buy Ocean Salt because it looks acidic, like it will burn through 50 layers of skin. Me = Sensitive skin. Nevertheless, I thought I’d give this 50% sea salt scrub a go because I’m a glutton for punishment.
A mixture of Sea salt, coconut cream, lime – sounds like a delicious dressing to be honest.
Hey check out the description on the Lush website! “Ocean Salt comes from Rowena’s love of all things scrubby. It’s like taking your face on a trip to the seaside for an invigorating splash in the water, then cleansing and refreshing it with lemon, grapefruit and lime juices. ”
It’s fate! Or not…
You know what? No doubt if you have dry skin like mine, and sensitive to boot, then you need to use this once a week and very gently. This sea salt is COARSE! It’s abrasive! Used gently and focused around the t-zone I think this did a pretty good job and I wasn’t crying in pain like I thought I would be.
I still used this with a very light hand – for sure, but yes it works quite well. I imagine oily skins would love this product even more. The flakies went but I am still a bit scared of it because salt stings if it gets in cuts, sores, eyes etc.

Got this as a samplt to try when I bought something else, and yes it burns like hell on blemishes and dry patches (could it be the vodka?!)! I did feel like it made my skin quite soft and smooth after using, and I did quite like the smell of it, I just wish that they’d make it with smaller salt grains, maybe crush them up so they’re not as sharp and lethal…stepping on them in the shower is NOT fun!
