Look into my eyes, in the eyes, not around the eyes….
You’re back in the room.
With me.
And two lovely eyeshadow palettes from Kevin Beautymaker!
I recently purchased two palettes from the range – Big Eyes and the Contour Kit.
Kevin Beautymaker, if you read this blog regularly, is one of my favourite brands. This Taiwanese make up and skincare brand is based around make up artist Kevin:
Nice jacket, Kevin! His range of skincare and make up is fantastic and ok priced (I buy from ebeautyshop.co.uk) but its a lot cheaper buying direct or getting a friend to purchase it for you.
Here are the two totally pretty and different eyeshadow palettes:
The big eyes palette is on the left and consists of sheer and sparkly grey, black, white and purple tones.
The contour palette consists of smooth matte browns and a black gel eyeliner.
Both remind me of the KATE Glam Trick Eyeshadows which are one of the most AMAZING eyeshadow palettes ever placed on this earth.
The packaging is a shiny silver which is annoying for fingerprints. Inside the palette is a mirror and this:
I like the eye contour eyeshadow palette a lot, because its unique! All the colours are unashamedly matte – so sneaking in some sparkly shades here, and the black gel liner is EXCELLENT.
So often I find that palettes that include a black liner aren’t up to scratch – this one is.
Here is the supposed effect with the eye contour kit:
I can see why this appeals and works so well for ladies with a monolid – it really allows you to build up the illusion of a crease and more depth just with some simple colours.
Is this fresh, funky, sparkly? Nope. Its just got tones of browns which aren’t exciting, but boy are they useful and effective.
So there’s something for highlight, contouring and lining. Love this, think it could work for anyone.
The Big Eyes Palette is more of a party collection in comparison.
Its not as pigmented as it looks – its more of a sheer glittery finish – as you can see the silver and black have some serious sparkle.
What it should look like:
The overwhelming colour in the photo is the purpler but as you can see, its not THAT pigmented:
However – because it isn’t too full on this is the palette I have been wearing in the day to work – because its not too obvious and unnatural.
Verdict:
Now that I’ve owned these palettes for a while, to be honest, I am getting a bit bored of them yet I think they are great palettes that are well worth owning.
The contour palette in particular is every natural eye/beginner girls dream!
Check out the palettes here (paid £12.99 each).

Sorry, but are we supposed to believe it’s eyeshadow and not blepharoplasties or eyelid tape that gives these women larger looking eyes?
Also, is it just me or does Kevin look like Gok Wan on a Casual Friday?
