Benefit’s newest mascara has a lot to live up to – that is the famous Bad Gal which gives rich black smoky lashes.

The packaging is cute – of course it’s cute, it’s Benefit:
The brush is a rubbery type and quite big. Let’s remember I am reviewing the mascara as a relatively short lashes Asian gal with stick straight lashes. This brush is a little too huge for my lashes but it’s no bother to use – but if it was a bit smaller I could really work it into the corners:
So I don’t know what’s wrong but this mascara didn’t quite work for me. Whilst it seemed to get between the lashes quite well to separate, I found it a bit heavy and it weighed down my curl.
It also didn’t add as much length as I’d like – it was better for the volume. I also found it smudged a little on my as the day wore on (I have quite watery eyes though). On the plus side it is a very black mascara.
I don’t know why it made my lashes stick together – this is a new tube after all but I struggled to make them separate after 2 coats were applied. I can see where they are going…sort of thick lashes….dense looking…but it didn’t work for me. I think this mascara is suited to those with long, naturally curly lashes already.

The pics don’t lie – I struggled with this mascara although I so wanted it to work for me. I’ll have to stick to my tough to remove Asian formulas that hold curl and add tons of length. This is best for women who already have the length and curl to begin with.

To be honest I was never such a huge fan of Bad Gal, so I don’t really understand the massive hype surrounding They’re Real. Your review is what I was expecting of it.

Hi, I have just found your blog I’m loving it, for me They’re real was not quite as good as I expected.
I have long thick lashes but like you they are not curly and I found it hard to seperate the lashes and make them curly I had to use lash curlers and about three coats, I wish I had seen your review first I would not have purchased!!

Fantastic honest review Row. We can always rely on you. I have short lashes too, but I still think I may purchase just for review purposes. I doubt it will work for me though after reading this. xx

I tried this and I FREAKIN LOVE IT….it is the only mascara I have ever seen any difference with AT ALL (except DIOR SHOW). But it costs too much for me. Since you hate yours, do you want to send it to me?????

The before and after on the product packaging is amazing! If it could make my lashes look like that I’m sold! But as my lashes are quite similar to how you describe yours, I’m afraid this probably would not give brilliant results

My friend bought it today and it looks fantastic on her. She does have quite dense and curly lashes though so I guess it works mostly on people who have nice eyelashes to begin with.
