About 6 weeks ago I started using a new range of skincare from First Aid Beauty – a brand which has been around in the USA for a while and was reaching the UK shores, courtesy of Boots!
The range visually is highly appealing to me – it has a cute but medicinal kind of look. The range is suitable for sensitive skins and contains no parabens or colourants. The range isn’t massive which I like – there’s specific products for specific problems. Here are the products I have been using these last few weeks and my thought on them.
First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser:
FAB Face Cleanser gently cleanses the skin, removes surface oils, make up, dirt and grime. Its whipped texture transforms into a rich cream when blended with water. It is infused with a powerful botanical antioxidant blend that works hard to scavenger free radicals.
I wasn’t sure what I’d think of this – I am a little bit wary of face washes because they can leave my skin a little tight. This one has that pearly look to it which I associate with very ‘foamy’ washes:
Actually this face wash which I used twice a day is very good. Even on my dry and sensitive skin, I didn’t find it drying and it didn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I didn’t think that it got rid of all my make up though – I think a make up remover or cleanser is necessary if you wear heavy make up.
Verdict: A keeper!
First Aid Beauty Anti Redness Serum:
I suffer from quite a lot of redness and irritation on my skin so I thought this would be a good product to use. It has a light texture that sinks in quickly so it’s fine to use with a another cream on top.
They say:
FAB Anti-Redness Serum improves unsightly redness in the dermis. Colloidal sulfur in the formula works to combat the root cause of facial redness. Aloe soothes while ginger works as a natural, powerful anti-inflammatory.
However I found that it irritated my skin – it actually stung quite a bit on my drier patches so after a few attempts I gave up on this product.
Verdict: A miss for me
5 in 1 Face Cream SPF30:
This face cream (more of a lotion) is part of the age delay range. It’s a 5 in 1 in that it has SPF, corrects skin tone, moisturises, combats free radicals and is anti ageing.
They say:
FAB 5-in-1 Face Cream with SPF 30 is the ultimate multi-tasking face cream formulated to help prevent and combat the signs of aging while moisturizing, nourishing and protecting the skin. It is the ideal all purpose anti-aging moisturizer for all but all the driest skin types.
I did like this product a lot. After 2 weeks I didn’t see a reduction of wrinkles (I’m not very wrinkly anyway) but I did see a brighter tone to my skin. The texture is like a light lotion:
However I don’t think it’s hydrating enough for dry skin.
Verdict: Great for combination skins.
5 in 1 Restore Cream Age Delay (Night Cream):
They say:
FAB 5-in-1 Restore Cream is a rich, multi-action moisturizer formulated to help prevent and combat the signs of aging while moisturizing, nourishing and protecting the skin.
This is my favourite product of everything I tried. It’s like a thicker version of the 5 in 1 day cream – it hydrated my skin and really boosted it in terms of clarity and softness
In fact I ended up using this as a day cream most of the time because it offered more moisture. You can use this in conjunction with the face cream SPF30 if you want sunscreen for the day.
Verdict: A nourishing and brightening face cream. My favourite thing.
FAB Detox Eye Roller:
They say:
Hyaluronate and advanced peptides recapture lost volume and increase collagen production to reduce fine lines. Witch hazel protects and soothes the very delicate skin under the eye.
This has a few benefits – it’s very cooling and refreshing to use, it’s handy as my eyes get tired during the day as I spend so many hours staring at a computer screen. This product is also great for dark circles (maybe because I ended up massaging my under eye with this product!).
On the downside it’s not madly hydrating. I ended up using this as a booster rather than my main eye cream because I get so dry around the peepers that I need a cream or balm for the area.
Verdict: An excellent eye roller but not too hydrating so better for those who don’t have very dry skin.
Conclusion:
I really enjoyed using the FAB First Aid Beauty skincare range.
I never felt like it would break my skin our or irritate it (although the redness serum didn’t agree with me) and I did feel that the general condition of my skin did improve (such as clarity and tone) although I didn’t notice any ‘anti-ageing’.
Overall I would’ve liked a toner too (the range doesn’t have one yet) and a more hydrating day cream.
I am testing out a new skincare range now but I will definitely keep going back to the 5 in 1 restore cream, detox eye roller and face cleanser.

I’ve really been wanting to try that cleanser! My Purity by Philosophy isn’t doing much for my skin anymore. Oh btw, i think somethings going on with your homepage…

I’ve been trying the detox eye roller that I won in your competition a while back (thanks again for the giveaway!) and I found it’s really handy for carrying around and using when I get a bit tired in the afternoon at work, massaging it under my eyes seems to give me a bit of a boost
Not overly moisturising or anything, but just nice and cooling to use. From your review, I think I would probably try the 5-in1 lotion and cream, I didn’t know they were being stocked at Boots so I’ll have to keep an eye out for them
