I am addicted to pencil eyeliners – I really am. Even if I don’t do eyeshadow, I will do a bit of eyeliner just to perk up the eye. I am obsessed with creamy gel type pencil liners because they are so easy to use!

Korean brands are always releasing new ones that tempt me (I have lots of other ones to review!).  Holika Holika have released these Jewel Light Waterproof Eyeliners – I have purchased their old eyeliners before (I forget the name but the colour was incased in a brown wood) and they were PANTS.

The Jewel Light Waterproof Eyeliners come in a really nice colour selection (12 colours) with 3 lighter highlight shades and then a selection of browns, blues, purples browns and black!

The colours have a shimmery element to them.

First off these pencils are very very creamy and rich – they are super duper pigmented and the darker shades will only need a swipe to leave a good amount of colour. They also work really well on the waterline!  The lighter colours are glittery and do not show up as much but still add a decent amount of pigment!

These eyeliners are so rich and so creamy that you have to let them set.  When they sat they last pretty well UNLESS you have applied too much.

So one layer  is enough. Two, and it won’t dry properly and can rub off. I have to say, whilst they are beautifully creamy, they do have a tendency to move around – so I completely would disregard the ‘waterproof claim’.  Especially on hooded eyes, if you apply the liner to the top lid it will smudge all over the lid.

Hmm. Yes it’s another hmmm day.

Whilst these liners are one of the most pigmented and creamy I have tried they take too long to set and even then have a tendency to smudge. Urban Decay 24/7 stay puts better as do my current favourite liners, Gelpresso from Clio. I do really love how Korean brands bring out tons of shades and formulas though, far better than Western brands that bring out just a boring black, brown and navy.

I personally can’t stand eyeliner smudging under they eye and on the eye lid, it makes you look scruffy even when your make up is fresh! So I can’t recommend these pencils.

I paid about £4.50 each for them via eBay.

What are your favourite eyeliner pencils?
