The older I get, the more pore trouble I get – whilst I get clogged pores I also have to be careful with that I use on my skin. Anything to drying or harsh and its rash-a-go-go!

So, I approached No Clogs Allowed by Soap & Glory with trepidation.

This Deep Pore Detox Mask (which feels a bit scrubby to me too) is a self heating face mask. I do NOT have a good history with self heating face treatments they make me break out quite badly.

Its a 5 minute face mask which is ideal for greasy, blackhead prone skin. I am blackhead prone but not greasy.

This mask contains Zeolite (which powers the ‘heat up’), Pumice, Jojoba Beads, Salicylic Acid, Grapeseed Oil etc.

For some people this will feel more like a mask but for me, it feels more like a scrub since you don’t leave it on your skin for too long anyway.

The packaging as always is super cute and it comes with a little pink sponge which I LOVE. I have been using the sponge almost everyday with my face wash because great at washing dirt away.

No Clogs Allowed has a sort of strange fruity smell to me. Its not hardcore fruit but its quite nice.

To use:

Squeeze a grape size measure onto your face with your fingertips. Wet your hands and scrub (you should feel heating) until you’re blue in the face – literally! Rinse right away for a fast refresh, or wait 3-5 minutes and sponge off for a squeakier clean. Use 2-4 times weekly for oily skin – less often for dry-sensitive types.

I am using this about 3-4 times a week at the moment….its addictive!

The face mask is sort of thick and cream but as you rub it into your skin, it goes blue!

Its important to wet your hands when you rub the scrub it – thats what gives that ‘heated’ feeling (I used it quite dry the first time and one I pressed my wet hands against it, it was like WOAH thats hot!)

The sensation is nice – its brief too so after the warm up, I scrub a bit longer around my nose and that’s it! Rinse off.

The mask:

Verdict:

I really like this! It didn’t give me any allergies or a rash BUT I wouldn’t scrub away at my cheeks with this either because I know my skin there is sensitive.

It is helping my skin look smoother and cleaner, I can’t say its stopped blackheads full stop because that depends on a number of things, but its something I keep in the shower and use every week.

Its £10 from Boots or Harvey Nichols – Boots is forever doing 3 for 2′s and things with Soap & Glory :)

Hello, I have real troubles with my skin; pimples not blackheads (i only get blackheads around my mouth and chin) and I have really oily skin.
But the more I scrub with a mild face wash and the more I use it, the drier my skin gets.
Do you know if this would do that to my overly-sensitive skin?
Also, do you know if this is available in the US?

If the answer to either is no, do you know of anything that would help?
Thanks~

Hi Sammy

I’m not sure I would use this with very sensitive skin….I have your problem, at the moment I am finding a brand called Pai (who make a sensitive skin range) and products by Elemis really help. How about a Japanese range too called Curel – it’s not too expensive (look on http://www.adambeauty.com) – their range is 100% for sensitive skin. I can also ask for some dermatolgist advice for you?
