Better than Mario Badescu Drying Liquid? Etude House AC Clinic Pink Powder Spot Review

I don’t like wimpy spot treatments. I like ones that search and destroy.

So, I am a big fan of Mario Badescu’s Drying Lotion – it’s a great overnight spot treatment.

When I spotted this Etude House AC Clinic Pink Powder Spot treatment set, I knew it was basically the same kind thing as Mario Badescu’s BUT- it comes in a set, is cheaper (around £9 including shipping) and…well it’s cute.

I wasn’t sure what I wanted from this spot treatment – I am happy with using Clinique Spot Gel in the day and Mario Badescu in the evening so I guess I bought this purely out of curiosity.

In the box you get the spot liquid (it’s like Isopropyl alcohol at the top and calamine lotion at the bottom. There are other ingredients, but I am sure you can make this stuff at home!).

You also get a number of cotton bus and a Acne Foam Cleanser – cool little bonuses!

You use this spot treatment at night. You don’t shake the formula, you just use the cotton bud and dip it in the pink powder at the bottom then apply it to your acne.

When using this kind of ‘drying’ lotion you will end up with pink splodges all over your face (due to the calamine lotion).

You do not use this if you are leaving the house any time soon.

You do not use this if you are having someone special stay over.

You do use this if you want to scare the double glazing sales make away.

I have been using these on the horrible spots I have been getting lately and I love it! This spot treatment is BETTER than Mario Badescu Drying Lotion!

Why? Well, it’s stronger. You may or may not like this – I found that when I first applied this to acne it hurt and tingled, but in a hurt-so-good kind of way, and after the tingle the powder clinged to my spots:

The next day – zip! This drying lotion worked a treat at drying out the spots on my face. The next day spots were noticeably flatter.

Mario Badescu’s also works very well – I don’t think you’d need both of these products, but I would say Etude House’s Pink Powder Spot worked that little bit better at drying up the spots.

It really clings to spots though, you really have to wash it off good the next day.

Verdict: Recommended!

*I bought this from eBay, there are loads of them on there and it’s inexpensive.

I’ve been curious about this since I saw it at my local Etude House, thanks for this review! Have you also seen/tried the Red Spot Balm from the same line?

Thanks for the review! I was curious about it being a “powder” but now it makes sense. :D

and one last question, if this is used the night before, and washer the next morning will it be still there?? because I didnt understand what you meant by it, so if i put it tonight and i have school tomorrow, will it be there or…?

I went to Everland this past Friday, a theme park in Korea, and bought this product at one of the shops there. I’ve been having acne problems for the past year and a couple other times when I was a teen. I visited the dermatologist about a month ago, and his products were only slightly working. Anyway,I tried this product Friday night, and I woke up Saturday morning and my bumps were extremely, noticeably flatter. I have NEVER in my life used a product this amazing and that worked so fast. I’ve been using acne products since I was 13, and wow, I am amazed. I recommend this product to everyone! Make sure you use it regularly, though, for better results. ENJOY!

-F, It will only leave light pink spots where you applied the application. It washes easily off the next morning with some regular face wash.
