I stumbled across the Korean brand, Mizon, by chance on eBay. I was looking for a snail cream (hot in skincare dontcha know) and found a load of interesting products created by this brand (Mizon sounds more like a car manufacturer doesn’t it?!).
They make skincare, haircare and make up products and I’ve bought a selection to review. One of the more expensive items I bought was this Argan Oil Essential Wrapping Balm – I am really into moisturising oils at the moment (although more for the body than the face) and Argan oil is one of my favourites. The idea of it in a balm form is ideal:
The packaging is very pleasing with Mizon – I found this to be the case with all the products I bought from them.
This Argan Oil balm contains organic Argan oil but also other oils blended in…
Therefore is you want pure 100% Argan oil you may need to look for a liquid alternative.
This yellow balm just has the usual balm smell – it’s unscented but not at all unpleasing like some balms can be. The texture is lovely – just how I personally like a balm to be (very soft, very easy to melt and rub into the skin).
I have used this on dry patches of skin, on my belly and more. It seemed to by fine on my face too and is nice if you can force someone to give you a quick massage (ahem). I did notice that dry skin looked much better after using this and although it’s not cheap (I paid about £17 including shipping) I think it’ll last a while as long as you don’t use it all over your body!
In terms of ‘sinking in’ to the skin, it’s not too bad – not as oily as some other balms leave you. Remember though a balm is going to sit on the skin longer than a cream or lotion.
Ingredients list – pretty healthy:
I liked this product a lot so I can’t wait to try the other unusual bits and pieces I bought from the brand! I am opening them one by one though so I don’t end up with tons of unused or half used items!
What do you think of this Argan oil balm? Do you have a favourite balm?

I like the Egyptian Magic Cream (Though it’s seriously more a balm than cream) a lot. On my third tub now and a little goes a long way! It works very well as a moisturiser for me on my dry, sensitive skin in humid weather (Malaysia) and is also apparently very good for blemishes and/or pimples for me! Just dab a little on the pimple before bed and it’s gone by the time you wake up haha.
