There are certain words and phrases that evoke a memory – so when I got my hands on this Sleek Eyeliner (got it ages ago, only just got round to reviewing it) and saw it was called Dip It, I imagined
a. A giant prawn being dipped into batter and deep fried and
b. That Christina Milian Song, Dip It Low
Do you remember that? It was supposed to be sexy and sensual but was totally wrong because Christina Milian looked and still looks like she’s pushing 14.
But I digress.
Here it is!
I know, its like Where’s Wally.
I forget what shade this is and I can’t be bothered looking so I’ll push the boat out and say the colour is called Orange.
They say:
Long lasting and highly pigmented liquid. Fine brush applicator helps draw a steady line with the right quantity of liquid eyeliner dispensed every time to give a dramatic look that will last all day. Apply on its own or with contrasting eye shadow.
The brush head is quite firm – firmer than I’d like for an even application (a brush with a bit of give is usually easier to work with I find).
The liner itself is quite wet but fairly opaque. It takes a moment to dry but once it does, gives quite nice, even coverage:
Pretty! I have to say greens and blues are my favourite beauty shades but the older I get the more I have come to terms with the fact that some shades just make you LOOK TOTALLY NUTS! LIKE LOOK AT THAT NUTTY WOMAN! WHICH ONE! THE ONE WITH THE BLUE EYESHADOW! OH HER! I THOUGHT SO TOO!
Ahem.
Check it out on my eye:Now that’s not bad is it? I got it on my lashes as you can see but its nothing a bit of mascara won’t cover.
There’s still that issue with the applicator – you can see its not a PERFECTLY smooth line and its one of those where if you press the tip too hard when you are drawing a line you end up with a gap in it.
The shade is quite cool, quite good fun but I don’t know if I’d pick it up at first glace – it looks a bit tippex-y. It does come in black and other shades.
For £2.99 its a decent little eyeliner although not the easiest to apply. Once you get it on though, it last quite well and the shades are vivid enough.
I used a MAC eyeshadow in the crease here – Wondergrass I think its called – just to finish off the mental patient ‘I’ve been applying make up in the dark’ look.
Dip it LOWWW Christina!

I have the black one, and I really like it, but I don’t think it goes on very evenly, which might just be me being a bit special…but the blue looks kinda cool.
And now I’m going to have “Dip it low” in my head all day..cheers
