I remember when they used to sell Anna Sui make up in Boots, then one day, the brand was gone. Such a shame!
Anna Sui has always been alive and well in Japan though and their recent launch – these Eyeshadow Duos had such pretty packaging that I just had to indulge in one. Took me a while to hunt it down (and for it to arrive! Thanks Royal Mail) but it got here in the end.
Ta-Da!
The packaging has a sort of multi coloured shell design. I think it’s just gorgeous, darhling, I love the shape, I love how it looks, it’s a well made thick plastic case with a mirror inside.
I choose shade 1 which is a black and hot pink combo. All the combination are quite interesting but I have this thing about hot pink at the moment, and also finding the best black eyeshadow.
03 is also right up my street!
But first lets take a closer look at the case….
Did I buy this just for the case? Well I guess I did.
Shade 01 is a pink and black. The eyeshadow has a soft rose scent (as does a lot of Anna Sui make up) and these are beautifully creamy – gorgeous – and pigmented but the colours don’t quite look the same as in the pan.
The pink isn’t quite a hot pink – it’s more of a strange blue based pink with tiny holographic flecks in it. Think, the same shade as a frost pink lipstick your big sister wore in the 80s. It’s also on the sheer side with a slightly metallic edge.
The black is more of a soft charcoal. There’s a soft sheen to it but no shimmer.
Don’t get me wrong they both have beautiful textures – but I wanted the pink to be really strong. But Anna was obviously thinking of wearability because a sheer pink is far easier to carry – but ahhhh I just wanted something more rock and roll!

Verdict:
I paid about $40 and I don’t regret it because it’s still a gorgeous duo and the packaging – to die for!! The shades just aren’t 100% what I expected, but at least it’s like nothing else I own.
What item of make up do you own that has stunning packaging?

You scored an Anna Sui e/s duo! Mine is 04 which I wasn’t crazy over as I found the texture a little strange. Still, do try layering the pink over the black (as I was advised) to create a new 3rd shade. On my skin in store, it came out looking purple which was quite pretty.

Hi Paris!
I loved the texture but I found the colour weird I have to admit. The pink should be a lip gloss not an eyeshadow! Will try layering it though
