I purchased this Make up mixer after my make up lesson at The Session School with Dani Guinsberg. Dani mixed this with some mineral make up from Bellapierre and made the most amazing, amazing base, ever.

Good for my delicate skin, excellent coverage, and glowy.

Now, I went down to PAM to buy the Make Up Mixer – but it was odd, because the one Dani used was made by PAM, but the brand they had in store was by Michel Deruelle (Le Maquillage Professionnel). It looks the same as the PAM one, smells the same, comes in the same bottle…so I dunno!

I plopped £10.34p down for this stuff – the ingredients aren’t too special and there isn’t that much of it so I did wonder if I could just use some moisturiser instead. After a few attempts with various lotions I have I realised that not everything blends easily with mineral make up…

Infact I found most of them went a bit dry and cakey or sunk into my skin too easily.

Here is the make up mixer – it’s a very runny pinkish liquid which smells a bit…plastic-like. It’s not unpleasant though.

Anyway I have been using this for a week and it is so amazing for mixing with things. I guess it’s called a make up mixer for a good reason! The texture is just perfect, it immediately makes the powder into a smooth liquid foundation but without diluting the colour so you end up scooping tons of foundation out.

I does completely work better than my normal face lotion. No caking, no allergies, no disappearing on my skin.

I’ll demonstrate how I mix this in the next post!

This product is sold at PAM but I can’t see it online so call +44 (0) 20 8740 0808 for info!

I’m curious about the magical-ness of this.. After reading your post about your make up session I tried mixing my mineral foundation with different moisturisers… Epic fail. I may have to get my hands on this!

OOOH I love the sound of this product, Rowena! For combatting cakey licious mineral foundy i use a spritz of witch hazel on my kabuki before dipping into some minerals and then buffing into face. I was totally put off by mineral makeup at the start before I read somewhere a nice little decanted spritzer bottle of witch hazel/rose toner etc would help :D

Sounds like just what I need to use up my mineral powders! I went through a phase where they were all I used because they seemed to suit my skin better, but since my skin started getting drier they were less suitable. I’ve never thought of using them up this way, thanks for sharing :)
