I’ve gone of many pore covering products over the years because I find most of them quite heavy and can cause spots!! I’d rather have a few visible pores then get a load of blackhead, you know?

Nevertheless I thought Etude House’s Goodbye Pore Ever range extremely cute in a Benefit kinda way.  There are 2 products in the range, the Primer Essence in a tube and a Pore Primer Stick. I bought both:

Etude House Goodbye Pore Ever Pore Primer Essence

The Essence which is in the tube is moisturising, can be used over a larger area, and controls oil and hides pores.

The Stick can be applied under or over make up and hides pores also but is more concentrated for a lot of coverage. Both are very silicone-y.

Both of these products are quite mini:

Because of the portion sizes (ahem) these are definitely just for spot application, not for all over.

The Pore Primer Stick is mini sized, like a lip balm.  It is really like a solid lip balm type stick:

There’s no scent I can detect, it feels like you are polly-filla-ing your pores which is cathartic but also quite sad because I think about the pore pores suffocating away!  It works very well though!

The essence is a surprisingly lightweight white lotion.  It is really not heavy and lightly blurs out the pores but not to a major extent.  It seems to smooth the surface but it doesn’t ‘hide the holes’ so much!  This smells a bit floral to me – it’s fine.

Here are the results of using the stick. It’s pretty good. If you had great skin bar pores you could so use this on it’s own. Under foundation well…it didn’t make it sit very nicely at all.

And THAT my friend is the problem I had with both of these products.
Whilst I can’t deny that the essence seemed to control oil and create a smoother canvas, and the stick blurs out pores well, I found both products quite oily and had that slick feeling silicone has.  Therefore, I found my foundation (I tried four types) sort of clung to the areas this primer had been applied to.
If it didn’t cling right away, as the day went on it started to bunch up around those areas and feel quite greasy. URGH!.
Verdict:
The stick is pretty good and I would use it again in the future for special occasions but certainly I wouldn’t clog up my pores every single day with it.
*I bought these from eBay.

I’m always a bit weary of pore products because sometimes they seem to accentuate them more than covering them :( It doesn’t help that most pore products are basically like polyfilla lol If only there was something that would actually shirnk them!!
