I am a massive fan of eyeliners, and I do love liquid liners especially in funky colours!
I purchased these Etude House Proof 10 liquid eyeliners before my holiday as I wanted something that would hold up in the hot weather. Etude House’s Proof 10 range is a waterproof collection – I’ve tried a number of their products like the mascara and liquid liner (old version) which is fine, the eye primer and stain.
These liquid liners are new:
Shade choices – I didn’t buy any boring colours!
I got the green, orange and brown. The colour I was most excited about was orange.
The liners come in a slim pen form, but are actually sponge tipped (a harder, firmer tip than Lancome Art Liner though). I am better at applying pen type liners, but this type (where you have to dip the applicator back into the pot to get the colour) means you can get a more pigmented line if necessary.
I got GR701, OR201 and BR401.
GR701 is a rich emerald-blue green, Orange is a medium toned tangerine with shimmer and BR401 is a medium chocolate brown.
I wasn’t completely sold on these formulas.
Under the intense heat (not even swimming!) I found that they started to fade after a few hours. Also the liner has a ‘sticky’ feeling to it – it takes a while to dry because of this and also as it’s quite liquid. I also found it some of the colours could be a bit ‘bitty’ – I don’t know why, it’s not like there were hard lumps in the product, but there was definitely a lack of smoothness.
Brown – Was a very weak colour. I expected a rich fudge brown with gold glimmers but it was pretty sheer.
Green – The strongest shade although it was very much on the blue said rather than emerald.
Orange – Once you work this in it looks quite nice and unusual – very summery like a bright orange copper. However the formula isn’t brilliant, once again really runny and feels a bit tacky even after it dries.
Verdict:
I like these colours enough to keep them – the orange and green maybe, but I found the formula to be lacking and it couldn’t last sweat so never mind a dip in the pool!
Only worth buying if you love the colours, I think!
*Purchased from eBay for around £8 each.
