I don’t know what it is about me and tints – especially lip tints, but we don’t always get on so well.
I love them for the cheeks but I find lip tints can be really pointlessly sheer and also leave the lips feeling a little dry and weird. However – I wanted to give the new Etude House Dear Darling Lip Tints (Neon) a go because the shades are such fun!
The original Etude House Tints come in shades of red (borrringgg).
The 3 shades here are (obviously not in order – I presume you can guess which is which):
1 Neon Orange
2 Neon Pink
3 Neon Magenta
These lip tints are excellent!
For one thing, they are pigmented but not in a scary way (they are BRIGHT) – they leave just the right amount of tint and they can be layered - 2/3 layers equals a pretty vivid hue on the lips but it doesn’t dry unevenly as some tints can, or make lips flaky. It also doesn’t dry or fade weirdly leaving an outline!
The consistency is like a jelly but not too thick.
They come with soft sponge tipped applicators:
I really do have a problem with the texture of Lip Tints usually, these are good because they aren’t uncomfortable to wear on my super dry lips. They feel like they are made for the lips and they’ve considered the need to keep the lips hydrated and soft.
The stain:
The orange lip stain on me, about 2 layers. It lasted well, but faded after some lunch:
Verdict:
Really lovely lip tints if you like neon brights! Well worth trying I can’t think of anything else in my collection that is a tint and comes in these shades.
I bought these from eBay for about £6 each.
