Welcome to a full week of eyeliner reviews from my latest finds from March 2011! Each review will be number 1 – 7.
Koji are known for making eye liners and their 1 day long lasting range is very popular in Japan. This Long Lasting Waterproof Eyeliner in Deep Black caught my eye as it’s supposed to be:
- Very dark black
- Waterproof
- Long Lasting
- Non Staining
Here it is in it’s packaging:
They say:
Fine-tipped and pen-like applicator brush is soft and flexible, creating a perfectly even and gap-free line for naturally defined eyes. Quick drying polymers make eyes impervious to sweat, water and sebum, wonderfully defining eyes for up to 24 hours.
Made from non-organic dyes for quick removal using makeup remover. I actually found this came off quite easily with warm water (I mean reasonably warm!).
Here is the liner – it’s a pretty standard liner in terms of presentation:
You must get rid of the excess on the side of the container. It has a very rich ‘vinyl’ type feel to it and it’s very dark opaque black which I like. No messing about and having to layer it!
The brush is surprisingly easy to use. It’s a bit stiffer at the base and loose near the ends. It is NOT hard to get a good line with this.

Verdict:
Overall this is a brilliant liquid eyeliner. I don’t like pot eyeliners like this but has a fantastic brush which makes it easy to apply and once it dries it will stay all day long. It’s also pigmented and a really deep black.
The only thing I don’t like about it is how it has a slightly glossy finish. I’d prefer a liner which had a matte finish.

Is it me or can I see gold flecks in the swatch? I think I quite like it because of the gold flecks, as long as they don’t irritate my eyes ‘cos I have a Kate gel eyeliner which is the black with silver bits and that irritated the hell out of my eyes! Is this one pretty much budgeproof, even by the end of the day?

Hmmm no there’s no gold bits in this I promise you! Perhaps because it’s glossy and the light is reflecting off it?

It does have a glossy finish. I noticed that with a lot of Asian eyeliners, but there are some wonderful matte ones as well. What is your HG eyeliner? I’m looking for one now but haven’t settled on any yet :p
