UPDATE: Boyf has finished the Dr Nick Lowe hand cream and is insisting I go out and buy another one for him, cos since he’s started using other creams as a substitute, his hands have flared up again. He feels that the Dr Nick Lowe kept his Psoriasis under control and was soothing at the same time. He doesn’t really like anything, this that’s quite a recommendation!

I’ve been taking more notice of Dr Nick Lowe’s range of skincare products.

Next up is the Day Hand Cream:

The best thing about this is that it incorporates SPF – very important for wrinkle free hands. Other than that I’m not madly fussy about hand creams as long as they aren’t greasy.

New from Dr. Nick Lowe, Britain’s leading dermatologist, The Double Duty SPF15 Hand Cream. For soft, youthful-looking hands, this rich cream contains UVA and UVB protection and is also boosted with skin lighteners, vitamins and antioxidants. It delivers 24-hour moisture which helps to soften fine lines and fade the appearance of dark spots and discoloration caused by UV and environmental exposure.

This costs about £14 from Boots.

I used this for a while but then I passed it on to someone who really needed it – the boyf.

Over the last few weeks he has had serious dry, chapped skin on his hands that is so serious he can’t even bend his fingers or move his hands at all at times.

Something had to be done. The plates were beginning to pile up.

He liked this hand cream A LOT.

Don’t get me wrong – his problem needed a use of steroids to clear up the worst patches but he used this hand cream continually (I mean continually though the day).

He noticed that his hands were much softer, the condition better and his nails (which had been ruined by steroids) has also improved.

Whenever I get a new hand cream I always end up passing it on to him, since he goes through the stuff like water. He’s tried out a lot of them – and he rates this as one of his favourites (along with Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Hand Cream) so it must be good!
