Regular readers will know I just love cream eyeshadows so when I saw these cute Skinfood Byulsatang cream shadows/liners I just had to buy a few to try

They look like cute pots with a cardboard lid:

The colours I purchased were:

01 Ice Turquoise
02 Grape Party
04 Apricot Cream
05 Black Chip
07 Brown Soda

These cream eyeshadows are very pigmented and thick in texture…I think the packaging is very cute but not a convenient size. I wouldn’t carry any of these with me unless it was for a weekend away.

These cream eyeshadows have textures that dry out quite easily so they come with plastic lids to keep them creamy:

Brown Soda & Apricot Cream:

Black Chip & Grape Party:

This cream eyeshadow is a very thick textured one – if you use too much it WILL crease. On the plus side it is pigmented and the colour is easy to build up slowly – some cream eyeshadows never go beyond a sheer wash so at least these pack a punch:

Another nice way to apply these is to dip a blending brush in and work in to the crease. I noticed that this turquoise had partly dried out:

From left to right, turquoise, brown, apricot, black and purple:

Some of them have a faint shimmer (such as turquoise and brown) which once they’ve dried look very pretty on and wearable. Apricot is the closest to a base and it’s nice but slightly orange toned.

Verdict:

These cream shadows are for people who won’t go nuts if their eyeshadow creases a bit and like pigmented, thick textures.

Haha, thought you’d buy this along with the ‘gunppang’ eyeshadow duos!

‘Byulsatang’ literally means star-shaped candies and these are basically small lumps of sugar shaped like, well, stars but not the five pointed ones but more like planet sort of stars.

They’re normally eaten with ‘gunppang’ because on their own, ‘gunppang’ is pretty bland and just savoury at best.

The turquoise looks stunning! Black Chip looks good too. I was drawn to the Apricot but swatch doesn’t look that good.
