I’ve been sitting on the Limited Edition Spring collection from No. 7 for a while…but now its time for a review!
Here is the collection – its fairly small, a highlighter, two lipsticks and an eyeshadow quad.
.
Oh metallic packaging. You are such a pain to photograph:
Here is the shell like turquoise packaging. I loved the look of this in print but in person…its little old fashioned. Unless the packaging is supposed to be retro – my mum used to have powders in this kind of mock shell design!
I know, I know, its just the packaging, Miss Candy. But its a little too boxy.
Too many sharp corners.
See?:
See? Its a little…plastic-like.
If we ignore this and look at the highlighter itself…well its FULL on but its also gorgeous!
A soft light white-peach highlighter. Its shimmery. You don’t want to put this on all over:
Close up, you can see there is a slightly marbled effect to it. I always worry with baked style powders that they are overly hard. This looks like it could be quite hard:
Swatch:
This is just a light swatch – its GORGEOUS! No chunks of glitter, its as smooth as butter and very pigmented. Love this as a highlighter – the texture you really need to try to understand how soft and creamy it is.
The Eyeshadow Natural Radiance Quad:
This is a pretty quad for spring – it lacks the softness and pigmentation the highlighter has though.
You can get a sheer, soft wash of colour and I quite like a bit of pastel for spring. But if you want something full on and madly pigmented, this is not it.
Swatches:
Roughly applied – my lashes keep getting tangled these days as you can see :/
Its a pretty quad and I think Boots are doing a 3 for 2 so you can get it on a deal – like I said, a good one if you like sheer soft washes of colour and pastels but not if you want full on pigment.
The Mineral Lipstick
I did a Lips of the Day with this lipstick.
There’s only 2 colours – Rubellite (mine – a sheer red) and Carnelian (nude brown).
I hope they do more shades in this formula because its beautiful – reminds me of the Japanese water shine textured lippies.
The pigmentation is good and you also get a nice shimmer and glossy finish:
Verdict:
Highlighter is a must, the lipstick is also lovely IF you like the two shades that they have. I hope they keep this formula in the collection and bring out a range of shades because the shiny red isn’t for everyone.
The eyeshadow quad is £13, the highlighter is £13 and the lipstick is £9.50. See the range here
