So I have been testing out loads of stuff from Benefit lately – I guess it’s been nice rediscovering things I’ve heard of from other people (both positive and negative).

Next up is Hello Flawless – oh yes, I love my base products!

They say:

This silky powder cover-up glides on naturally sheer and layers beautifully for customized coverage with SPF protection. Complete with brush and sponge and dual application lesson.

This product is supposed to be a foundation and powder and concealer – it can be used with a sponge for more coverage or a brush for light cover, or even dabbed on blemishes as a concealer.

It comes with a SPF15 too. I have the shade Toasted Beige which is great for NC35.

I like the case, it’s retro but doesn’t look cheap:#alttext#

It’s like a studio set.

Here is the powder. It comes in quite a few shades which is good. This is quite a golden yellow.

There’s a mirror inside and a sponge and brush too! The sponge is a little too thin for proper application though, it’s good to dab but I’d prefer something thicker and more spongey. The brush is better.

My skin before – I have quite a lot of redness:

I used the brush to get my finish all over:

After a few minutes – ta da! It looks good, beautifully even soft finish and covers the redness and also some spots on my face:

Verdict:

Overall I like this powder a lot – I will always prefer the texture of a liquid or cream base over a powder foundation because of my dry skin but this Benefit one does a good job, especially for emergencies where I don’t have time to apply a wet base.

The texture of the powder is SUPER creamy and soft.

It can cling to drier parts to the face – you need a primer or moisturiser underneath this so that it doesn’t look cakey.

Another problem is that because it is so soft and creamy, when you use the brush on it, it can flick bits of powder off so be careful you don’t cover yourself in it.

Overall a nice powder with variable coverage.

Buy it here for £24.50

Hi Lexi

It’s very nice I was surprised because I don’t like anything that is too matte x

This looks great on you! I want a nice new powder compact/powder foundation but I’m torn between Chanel and Armani and now this! I have one from Dior but the shade (33 which I had to get sent over from the U.S!) is just a tad off. Grr!
