Months and months ago Becca had an online sale and I purchased some loose powder and these Pressed Shimmer Powder Compacts – they are actually due to be discontinued so are still half price at the moment (£15).
They say:
A delicately fine shimmer powder that lights up the complexion, illuminating darkened areas and lackluster skin and creating a magical glow that emanates from within.
I am a real fan of Becca products – I think they have a really luxurious feel (and the price to match!). Their base products come in a good variety of shades, the only thing is I can’t think of any Becca stores or counters near me and I wouldn’t risk an online purchase.
Like all Becca products it comes in that metal/rubber casing which gets dirty after a while:
The thing about these powders is that although they look tinted, they are highlighting powders with a very soft sheen. They are not blushers, not on my olive skin so there’s no point holding out hope that they will be pigmented enough!
Odette has a soft bronzy sheen to it:
Princess is a soft pink:
Hmmm.
This product has pros to it; they’re beautifully soft powders, the sheen is really lovely and there’s no chunky glitters or anything unflattering to it either. The problem is, in my case anyway, is that on my NC30/35 skin it doesn’t show up barely other than as some indescript highlighter…
And I don’t really have time to apply highlighter, even on a good day.
Swatches:
Odette as you can see is a pretty light golden bronze. Princess might work best on fair girls, it does nothing for me – I may blog sale this.
Ingredients:
It contains Bismuth Oxychloride which in the base has made my cheeks itch. I haven’t had any adverse reactions to these powders but then again I’ve not used them very much at all!
Verdict:
They are nice highlighters, just beware if you have olive to dark skin, they don’t really show up that much on my.
