I’ve been varying my skincare a lot lately, depending on what I feel that it needs and one of my most used cleansers is this lovely release from Elemis, the Melting Cleansing Gel:
This cleanser is similar to cleansing oil, but in a gel form. You apply it to dry skin and then add water. The product then turns into a milky liquid to rinse off.
Using scientific dual-phase technology, this ultra purifying cleanser is perfect for challenged, tired, dull and stressed skin. Skin protective organic Argan Oil, mattifying Rice Silk and purifying Rosemary Leaf are combined with powerful anti-pollution Moringa Peptides.
This gel is lovely…I started using it a month ago when my skin started kicking off and I found this highly soothing to use. No irritation or dryness, which I can get with cleansing oils (hence I only use them when I have heavy duty make up to use).
I do find overly complicated cleansing products a pain in the bum to use. I guess with this product because it’s applied to dry skin and all you need to do is rinse – it makes it super duper easy and it feels cleanser than a cream cleanser.
It doesn’t foam at all – I am not a big fan of foaming cleanser anyway unless they are totally non drying.
My only issue with this cleanser is just how clean the skin gets – if I’m not wearing much make up then it’s fine. If I have lots of warpaint on then I feel like I need a double cleanse. Also, I seem to have gone through this tube quite quickly as I use quite a generous squidge each time.
Verdict:
A really lovely cleanser well worth trying if you want something that feels more hydrating than a cleansing oil.
This costs £19.40.

I’ve been using the La Roche-Posay Rosaliac micellar cleansing gel as a pre-cleanser before using the Clarisonic, which I love using because it doesn’t dry my skin out like cleansing oils and it removes everything, even mascara. I’m gonna try this Elemis one out next I think beacause it sounds really nice, and I like the sound of the ingredients. I’m also surprised how affordable it is, as I’ve always assumed Elemis was really expensive!
