I was about to write Tuesday Giveaway, then I realized it’s already Wednesday!

Happy April Fools Day!

This weeks giveaway is Boots Protect and Protect Serum.

This stuff caused a RIOT when a BBC show called Horizon picked it out as one of the anti ageing serums that had visible results.

After the BBC2 science series Horizon’s March 27 programme investigated the increasingly outrageous claims on the jars of the elite cosmetics houses, its conclusion was that, yes, indeed, there was one across-the-counter anti-ageing product that did what it says it would. What happened next was phenomenal. Twenty four hours after the programme was aired there was not a single 30ml jar* of Boots No7 Protect & Perfect serum to be found in Britain. Sales had increased by 2,000 per cent overnight, stores had amassed waiting lists running into four figures, the company’s web store had 4,000 requests in an evening and thousands of pleas from the US, and single jars of the serum were changing hands for £100 on eBay.

“We had crowds of women charging behind the counters, convinced our sales staff had a secret stash stored there,” says Geraldine Waterson, the No7 product developer. ”We had women threatening to practically lynch anyone who got more than one and, from John O’Groats to Land’s End, we had queues snaking down the high streets. We knew women would want it, we just wildly under-estimated how many. We had shipped 21 weeks’ supplies into the stores the night before. All were gone in a day, at a rate of one jar every 10 seconds. Now it will be a fortnight before we can meet the demand.”

(From the Telegraph Newspaper).

*Perfect and Protect is now sold in tubes, not jars.

Here it is:

Me?

1. What’s the worst make up item you have ever bought?

I have this Japanese eye concealer called Govette or something and its supposed to be Salmon colour, but it’s literally just SALMON on the skin.

Also, every single damn mascara that said it would curl and didn’t!

2. What make up counter do you hate going to the most?

I get ignored an awful lot at MAC and Clinique.

3. What are you lemming right now?

I want a yellow blusher powder from Illamasqua, it is supposed to tone down redness!

1. What’s the worst make up item you have ever bought?
Ooo. That’s easy MAC Prep & Prime Eye. OMG. My eyemakeup slid off my eye within an hour, it slid off. Plus the lightest shade was too dark and i looked like I had a disease because it’s quite opaque for such a small amount. When I tried using it for under eye concealer it caked with the littlist bit. UGH. Just UGH.

2. What make up counter do you hate going to the most?
I think MAC gets a bad rap sometimes, It;s usually on a more personal level that depends on the service. Like who the person is and theyre general attitude. I personally hate Estee lauder and elizabeth arden. This is because in the bon-ton where the only four makeup counters within a hour radius reside. There is a bitter rivalry between the lancome and clinique counters and the estee and arden counters. My friend worked at arden til her supervisor bullied to the point where she quit and my friend at lancome is tortured by the estee and arden women and one disagreeable gay man. To make a long story short. I dont get very good service at those two counters. lmao.

3. What are you lemming right now?
I really want MAC e/s’s in orange, bitter, and chrome yellow. I am sooo waiting for the MAC Style Warriors Collection. I want almost evrything from it.

1. What’s the worst make up item you have ever bought?
ELF All Over Color Sticks. It looked nothing like the color swatches online, and when applied, looked nothing like it did in the tube. On my face, it looked like children’s silvery-pink shimmer. Not appropriate for eyes, lips, or cheeks (unless you’re a woman of the night). It went into the trash. Fortunately, it only cost me $1.

2. What make up counter do you hate going to the most?
MAC in Nordstrom. It was the first time I thought I would actually buy something from the counter…but they totally ignored me, which was worse than a pushy salesperson, in my opinion! I didn’t waste my time and went to Sephora, where the saleslady was super nice.

3. What are you lemming right now?
Oh jeez, where to start?! A good, metal eyelash comb. An opaque nude nail polish. Clinique eye shadow in Lucky Penny b/c I’m almost out! A good eye cream (maybe Origins?).

1. The worst thing I bought was this eyeliner pencil from a local brand called Nichido. It was supposed to be a pearly white colour but it barely showed up and was greasy. Blech!

2. I hate going to drugstore stands where SA’s constantly follow me like I’m going to steal something!

3. Basically anything from MAC right now!

1. NYC mascara. It was supposed to curl. It didn’t even come OFF the brush. And the brush was horrible… it was too soft and wouldn’t go through my eyelashes.

2. I don’t go to enough makeup counters to really know. =( I hate the Walmart makeup counter though because the ladies there are usually overworked… and being overworked makes them rude.

3. I want some lip gloss that is smooth and not too wet or sticky. And comes in pretty colors and has a good taste. I like Sally Hansen lip gloss.

I just started buying makeup and I played safe (reading lots of review before buying stuff), so I haven’t had the worst make up item yet.
I don’t like going to MAC counter as I always feel intimidated.
I am lemming Calypso Mineral’ Rainbow shadow kit. It’s perfect for the summer with bright, bold colours

1. MAC Liquid Last Liner. I couldnt get it off. :(

2. Any Clinique counter. I’ve gone twice to get the 3 step set and both times the person behind the counter had no idea what I was on about….plus they all seem to be really up themselves.

3. One of Urban Decay’s new lipgloss Pocket Rocket, Urban Decay’s 24/7 mini eyepencils in Velvet Rope. Mac’s Luminary Lustreglass & Mac’s Peppermint Pattie Nail Lacquer. Oh I wish I were rich!

1. The worst thing I got was nasty rash from a mask I bought. It was pretty expensive, I guess I just had a bad reaction. I have had pretty bad luck with foundation in a compact too. It’s been very hard to find a good matching shade, and I’ve ended up tossing most of it.
2. I don’t like going into the malls when they almost attack you with perfumes, but I love most cosmetic counters.
3. I really love to try all kinds of Mineral makeup. Mostly blush, they add such a pretty glow.

1. What’s the worst make up item you have ever bought?
There are actually quite a few…Maybe that limited edition Wet n Wild gloss, it looks so pretty in the tube, a milky pink with a lilac sheen allover, but it turned my lips into a pair of slugs…

2. What make up counter do you hate going to the most?
Some lancome reps are snobby but the place I hate going the most was the beauty session of a loacl grocery store. I swear, everytime I get there and looking for random stuff, that same sales girl just kept popped out of nowhere saying :” need help finding everything”…It has been over a year and she still kept doing that…(I stared to go to another brand because of that.)

3. What are you lemming right now?
Nars summer 2009 single shadow in tropic…that shimmering teal is so delicious, although I have no clue how am I going to pull it off…

I’ve been ignored more than once at different MAC counters.

A Hello Kitty sheer mystery powder compact from MAC, but at $90 it isn’t going to happen.

Dear Friends, Happy Fool’s Day!!!

A man speaks frantically into the phone, “My wife is pregnant, and her contractions are only two minutes apart!”
“Is this her first child?” the doctor queries.
“No, you idiot!” the man shouts. “This is her husband!”
A woman got on a bus holding a baby.
The bus driver said, “That’s the ugliest baby I’ve ever seen.”
In a huff, the woman slammed her fare into the fare box and took an aisle seat near the rear of the bus.
The man seated next to her sensed that she was agitated and asked her what was wrong.
“The bus driver insulted me,” she fumed.
The man sympathized and said, “Why, he’s a public servant and shouldn’t say things to insult passengers.”
“You’re right,” she said. “I think I’ll go back up there and give him a piece of my mind.”
“That’s a good idea,” the man said. “Here, let me hold your monkey.”

Happy April Fool’s Day!
