As it gets warmer and warmer a lot of people downgrade their foundations to tinted moisturisers or sheerer formulas (I have more of these kinds of textures to review soon!).
Well if you want to try a cheap and cheerful tinted moisturiser, then ELF Studio’s fairly new product is a good choice.
They say:
This lightweight and hydrating formula is breathable and provides anti-aging sun protection with UVA/UVB SPF 20. Achieve even skin tone and naturally radiant skin with this moisturizing sheer tint of color. The smooth formula enhances your complexion with the nourishing key ingredients Aloe, Cucumber and Vitamins A, C & E
This tinted moisturiser costs just £3.50 and comes in a decent array of shades (7). I have Nude here which is too light for me (Beige or Almond is probably better) but I tested it for the texture and finish anyway…
This has a slightly thick, jellyish texture – reminds me a tiny tiny bit of MUFE face & body but not as odd.
It smells of watermelons. This is a bit strong but doesn’t put me off the product – still better than flowery foundation!
The product gives a decent amount of coverage despite the fact that it’s a tinted moisturiser. It does take a bit of work to blend in…well, not lots of work but it’s not effortless. When I’ve used tinted moisturisers in the past, I just slap it on like how I would be a face cream but this one does need checking for streaks.
SPF 20 is a fab addition and overall, I liked the glowy dewy effect it left although a bit of powder kept things under control and made it more long lasting (I didn’t find this base long lasting at all).
Here is the kind of finish I got – if you have major blemishes or tons of redness I’d recommend something with more coverage:
Despite my minor complaints I think you can do much worse than this for a tinted moisturiser so I’d totally recommend it for the bargain price.
Buy it here for £3.50.

Perfectly timed post, I’ve just been looking for a tinted moisturiser…not impressed with the MAC one at all, it smells like poster paint :S Will definitely try this one out, what a bargain!

This is the 1st time I hear a good review of this product, I always hear complaints about it, but I think I’ll try it too.

Thanks for the review. ELF is now available in my country and I am not sure about product quality because of their prices but after reading this review I will give this tinted moisturizer a try
