I’ve been a little slow off the mark, but from the moment I saw the RMK Autumn Mystique collection I’ve been dying to try out a few bits and pieces:

RMK’s website, by the way, has a ‘making of’ video everytime they release a new collection which is interesting to watch.

Ok – so I got the a blush and shadow, and a new gel liner:

There are 2 blushers to choose from, a pink and an orange – I got the orange one which has 5 stripes in it:

I got the grey combination shadow (there are various others to choose from, but this is the palette used on the visual):

RMK have launched their first gel liners. There’s some limited edition colours (lighter colours, more sparkle) and the basic blue, brown and black. It comes with a brush:

Here’s the liner. Bobbi Brown’s gel liner is my HG item, and this is pretty good competition:

BB’s is creamier, softer. RMK’s gel liner is a harder so better for applying the to waterline. BB’s is great as a shadow base. This is a bit more compact so I’ll probably carry this one around with me and keep BB in my big make up bag.

I have to address the issue of pigmentation! This RMK palette is medium-sheer pigmented. I think this is quite a Japanese thing – a lot of the palettes that I get from Asia focus on a softly shimmering finish as opposed to a deeply pigmented one.

Be aware if you get this, this is more about sheer washes, shimmery hues and building colour gradually:

I LOVE that there’s the glitter panel with the blusher and the shadow – like the Xmas LE glittery shadows. There’s a bit of fall out with these, so be careful but its my favourite all out glitter thing.

Swatches:

The blusher is the same in terms of texture – its not wham-bam pigmented, more of a sheer wash but I find it better because I am quite heavy handed. I applied it here swirled together and put the gold shimmer at the top of the cheek:

There are loads of other nice bits from the collection I want to try- the good news is that you can now buy RMK online on Look Fantastic! Otherwise the counters are in Selfridges in Manchester & London.

Oooh! I’m usually one for deep pigmentation, but I have to say that the concept of a semi-sheer black and grey palette sounds incredible! I have extremely fair skin, and it’s really hard for me to pull off dark colors without looking like I’ve been punched in the face! And I love the cases, they’re just too cute!
