Oh Aveda, how do I love thee? I love thee very much, especially when thee has created a stellar new shampoo and conditioner for dry, frizzy hair like mine.
I have tested a lot of lovely shampoos and conditioners you understand. Aveda’s Dry Remedy Shampoo made for – well, dry hair, is my latest. Coming a pale blue squeezy tube, this yellowing thick shampoo and conditioner is made to fix over processed hair like mine.
They say:
Instantly improves dry hair up to 63%, when used as part of our Dry RemedyTM Moisturizing System
The patent-pending Deep-Moisture complex penetrates hair to deliver lasting, intense moisture, powered by buriti oil, pomegranate and palm-derived conditioners
Basically – it is a FABULOUS shampoo and conditioner for dry hair.
After just one wash, my hair feels completely soft, shiny, knot free and bouncy – it is not horribly heavy like some moisturizing shampoos can be. The other half commented that my hair smells great (its a slightly nutty, floral smell) and being Aveda, theres no nasty SLS to make my scalp flare up.
The downside? the price. I swear, this shampoo is heavenly for anyone with dry hair but it is £18 smackers – however I got it with a discount at £15 from wantthelook.com (free delivery on orders over £30 too). I cannot recommend this Shampoo and Conditioner enough – it is gut wrenchingly expensive mind you, but so so so so so lovely.
I also picked up my favourite curl enhancing product, Aveda’s Be Curl:
This is applied to damp hair and it just leaves the nicest, crust free bounce. I paid £16 for this last time from Selfridges but its £12.75 from here.
