I was invited to try Xtreme Lashes, done by the lovely Esme Winterflood – a make up artist by trade who has also trained in applying lash extensions.
Lash extensions are glorious, although there are pros and cons. One of the major cons is damage to the lashes – depending on how good your technician is, you can really end up with a lot less lashes after the whole process is over.
Esme took some time talking to me about this – essentially, in the hands of a good technician your lashes should be fine. I have certainly found that the more heavy handed the application, the more damage is caused to my lashes.
Esme talked to me about what I wanted – I wanted long, glam and curly. She choose something that was long enough, but not too long with a C-curl. Meanwhile I drifted off to sleep (must’ve been my hayfever but my throat was so sore when I got up!).
Here is the result:
What I noticed about Esme’s application is that she is quite gentle. I’ve had some real tugging with other applications…
I also really like the lashes – long enough with curl to lift my own lashes, but not over the top.
Another big pro about these lashes is that they are very comfortable to wear. As lashes start to grow out I do, personally find them a little uncomfortable. These have been quite nice to wear so far, quite light and I don’t have much urge to pull at them.Downside to these lashes – nothing really. These are one of the favourite lashes I’ve had done so far because they are comfy to wear, natural looking and quite glam.
You have to put in an amount of care into these lashes – no oil based eye make up removers, no scrubbing at them of course.
Overall I really liked Xtreme Lashes – the whole experience was painless and I think my new lashes are rather swish!
How do you think they compare to my other lashes with Sue Marsh, Flutter and Jinny?

Wow your lashes look very pretty indeed! And you can’t see the joins at all. I’d never know they were fake (until seeing the “before” pic on one of your other lash extension posts).
I have boring short, straight lashes and I’ve always toyed with the idea of lash extensions (especially seeing your pics) but I’m just too lazy for the upkeep. Are you quite good at having regular maintenance appointments?

No I am terrible and to be honest, they get a bit annoying as they grow out!!! So no, I normally have a break between extensions!

They are gorgeous – very glam, which you wanted, and seem a lot more natural to me as well. Loving the last pic, too!

Those are super lovely! If I were over there, I’d be making an appointment to have them done on myself. Alas, I’m not, so I’ll just have to admire yours.
