I have heard so many positive things about the L’oreal Infalliable Eye Colours that I decided to pick up 3 when they were on 3 for 2 in Superdrug.  Superdrug seem to be getting their act together and their once very messy counters look tidier and I’ve noticed these eyeshadows were sealed up with tape too to prevent people from opening new products and dipping their fingers in (why do people do that?!).

I chose 3 shades, Purple Obsession, Goldmine and All Night Blue. I wasn’t blown away by the colour selection in that I wasn’t drawn overwhelmingly to any shades which I usually am, so I went for what I consider to be quite wearable colours:

These come in lightweight plastic pots. The lids look a bit rubbish with the writing and barcodes on; quite cheap really.

Like the Armani Eyes to Kill shadows, these are densely pressed powder shadows…

Purple Obsession 005 is a true rich dairy milk purple:

These shadows have a really lovely, creamy soft texture. Although they are actually loose shadows, there is very little fall out and the colours adhere well especially when used with primer – in fact, you must use this with primer! Without it…it just doesn’t feel like it’ll stick well.

All Night Blue 006 is a rich deep navy – it is highly pigmented:

Goldmine 027 (I think!) is a true yellow gold:

All of these colours are quite basic in that they are metallic, very pretty but don’t have many nuances to it.  There isn’t much else going on other than the shade it is supposed to be.

Even so they swatch really well and are creamier than any other L’oreal eyeshadow I have used before. Swatches:

Very creamy, very true colours and actually, long wearing with minimal mess – I usually avoid pigments because they can create a shimmery mess but these didn’t. I am impressed by them and hopefully they will bring out more colours!  These cost £6.99 each.

I have the blue one, and I really love it – I’ve been wearing it as a liner. It’s such a rich, pretty color.

Those three colours are actually the exact same colours I would pick. They compliment each other well. Need to be on the look out for these babies.

They look really creamy – I am at this very second sitting here with glitter all over my face so completely agree that its very annoying when pigments have loads of fallout!
