Lips of the Day: Shu Uemura Supreme Shine in Red RD 165 Review

I am now the owner of three Shu Uemura Supreme Shine lipsticks – these don’t generally last too well but by god, they are absolutely – gorgeous – instant – sex – bomb.

Newest addition is RD 165 which they call a ‘Universal Red’. Glossy, sheer reds are my bag. I am too chicken to wear bright, matte, opaque red lipstick out day to day – there I said it.

I’m not Coco Chanel, I don’t work at Vogue, I’m not temping at McDonalds (any more), I’m not working the street corners….any time soon so…red lipstick is out for general work days.*

*Feel free to rock red every day by the way. I’m not judging I’m just telling you other people are.

I digress. Here it is:

All the supreme shines I have are a bit wobbly – grrr. I think its because they are so soft, delicate little things.

I’ve said a lot already about the texture and finish of the Supreme Shines – its utterly utterly stunning, really truly. But it just doesn’t last…in the lighter colours. A-ha!

In this gorgeous red, which I think would work on a lot of people, it does leave a slight red stain and some sparkly bits.

You could easily put some balm on top of the stain and it would still look nice. Hurrah!

See a close up…an awfully sexually provactive image of my lips:

The stain left (my lips are quite dry at the moment):

I don’t know why I do so many lip pictures, I don’t even like my lips and they are dry dry dry. Still…they are the gateway to the stomach, what else matters?

Love this lipstick! I would dare to wear this just cos its a very playful, very juicy red.

Ooh yes, they are selling Shu Uemura on The Beauty Expert these days so it should help those of you who don’t like near a Shu counter get your hands on their products.

See the Supreme Shines here (£19.50 each).

The next one I want is White! (its sheer, very glittery!).

I LOVE your lip pictures, don’t ever stop doing them! You have great lips, I’m sure I’ve told you that before! The lippie looks hot, but I’m fed up of such high prices! Grrr!

Hi Naz

AW thankyou

I agree. £20 for a lipstick is NUTS but they are all charging it!

I do like the Shu Supreme Shine I have, I’m not totally convinced on the sparkly bits though. That is a lovely red.
