Are you having a good week? I do hope so. Have another product review for you today which has taken me far too long to get round to doing…
I first heard of Ellis Faas from Grace (London Make Up Girl), who is rather good at finding unusual make up brands long before anyone else jumps on the bandwagon.
Immediately I thought the website looked amazing, love love love the way they present swatches and the colours looked great. Rather too great, because it was overwhelming in choice!
Anyway never fear, because here I am with an Ellis Faas Cream eyeshadow. Love cream eyeshadows, always have, always will.
The Ellis Faas cream eyeshadows come in a long silver pointy pen and in ‘creamy’ eyes and ‘milky’ eyes.
I got a milky eyes in E206, a matte mid toned brown.
Ooh check out the swatches. LOVE those brows:
So here is the applicator. Afraid mine was pretty faulty – I had to wind it up a lot, and nothing was coming out but a few dregs…eventually the lid of the product popped off and when I screwed it back on, lots of product came out.
Wasted!
The brush itself is fine. No good for blending, but firm for application.
The accident:
Boo Hoo!!!!!! All that lovely eyeshadow wasted.
The colour I must admit isn’t really my kind of colour. It reminds me of drying mud – in a sense its neutral and probably very safe for nearly any skintone to wear but its not I personally would have picked.
The texture is quite unusual – it reminds me of my Lancome Eyeshadow primer – a little greasy but dries to a fine powder like finish.
Swatch:
Here it is on the eyes. Was a little difficult to blend, I didn’t have any brushes at hand either:
The colour is a little warm. I still find it such an unusual yet ordinary brown!
Says on their site:
Ellis Faas based the whole collection of her brand on the colours that by nature exist in every human body. From all tones of foundation to every lipstick and eyeshadow, the shades are inspired by the human body’s owns colours.
I guess this brown reminds me a bit of the colour of freckles on a light-medium skinned person!
The packaging – like a long bullet is shiny but a little impractical. Does it fit in my make up bag? Errmmm no, its too long and pointy. Good for self defence though!
This finish is also a little dewy but not sticky at all once dried. I wouldn’t say that it would be the best powder shadow base.
I felt it was a little plain so I put some Stargazer gold glitter on top:
I kinda like it with gold! Its just something different.
Verdict:
This particular shade isn’t very me, it reminds me of crap cooking milk chocolate but the range is so intriguing I am dying to try out more products.

Your eyelashes look lovely.
Ouch on the applicator – that’s like a fiver’s worth, gone. Mine have never done that, but I do the click…wait…click…wait… thing. I like the colours, but I like sludgy eyeshadows, I don’t think this brand caters for those who like cool, clearer shades.

Should have said that even with the waiting I do get some wastage though – just never quite as spectacular!
