I went through this phase, when everyone was all about the gnarly germs we spread, of being addicted to hand sanitizer. The sprays, the gels, I couldn’t stop spraying it. On my hands, on my feet, on other people, on door handles.

However – those things sting! And they are drying. The little mites I look after have eczema and they did not take kindly to me spritzing them with a sanitizer that contains a lorra alcohol just before their happy meals.

So I was pleased to find this Moisturising Hand Sanitizer from Surya, a range from Brazil (and has a range which uses many of the botanicals from the Amazon rainforest).

The clear, pretty scentless gel immediately felt different to me from any other hand treatment I have tried. The gel sunk in and dried quickly, as they do, but no stinging and my hands actually felt quite soft and moisturized.

I tested it on my boyfs dry, sore hands and he said there was a mild tingling but it wasn’t uncomfortable (you should see how he wriggles in pain with traditional hand sanitizers. Like a baby, a baby).

I’m keeping this one for good – if you have dry mitts it is no substitute for a cream or lotion but its a non stinging, caring kind of germ killer. Like me.

You can buy it here from Liberty of London, £7.00 for 60ml (the Liberty website is hot by the way).

Ingredients:
Deionized Water, Ethyl Alcohol*, Glycerin, Dehidroxantan Gum, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice*, Ziziphus Joaseiro Bark Extract, Euterp Oleracea Extract, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Cananga Odorata Flower Oil, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil. Dermatologically tested and hypoallergenic. *Certified organic by EcoCert.
