The problem I have with mineral make up is that most look a little crusty on me, because my skin has a tendency to be flaky. So OxfordJasmine recommended the ELF mineral booster to me to get a smoother finish:

Mineral booster comes in three tones and two sizes; Sheer, Shimmer and Tinted, Small 0.17oz (4.82g) and Large 0.63oz (17.86g) (£3.50 and £5 respectively). Nice to have an option on the sizes quite frankly! It takes me forever to get through these powder products!

They say:

Completely sheer and ideal for all skin tones, Mineral Booster gently absorbs oil and minimizes the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and pores for a beautiful even finish. Wear alone or buff over our Mineral Concealer and Foundation to lend extra staying power and to achieve a professional and stunning porcelain matte look that will last all day.

Tinted is the darker powder and Shimmer is pale with a hint of shimmer. I don’t have sheer, but I’ll presume that’s a light toned powder with a translucent finish…

Tinted is an excellent choice for darker skintones who don’t want to risk a chalky finish.

It is darker than it looks; a bit too dark for me at NC35 (more of a bronzing powder for my skintone) so I imagine it would work well for darker Asian/Black skintones.

Shimmer is pale with a hint of tiny sparkles. Tiny – it’s fine to use over the face in my opinion.

Swatches:

They look sort of powdery there but they aren’t; similar to the HD Powder in that they brush away and leave no horrible powdery trace.

They don’t really offer coverage as such; they’re better as a finishing powder I think or over make up to set it or in my case, under a mineral foundation – it leaves such an amazing glidey finish to the skin. Not drying at all.

It’s so nice I went through a phase of just using this Mineral Booster (the shimmer one) with a dab of concealer. It leave the skin incredibly soft and polished, I’d fully recommend it for ladies who want a super smooth finish.
