The Charge:
Brand new, shiny lipsticks, that look amazing, are perfect in appearance but then. they. wobble.
Shiseido's lipsticks do it. So does Sonia Rykiels'. When I got my first wobbly lipstick (I think it was the old Shu Uemura ones), it annoyed me so much I went back to the counter to "feel up" the other lippies to make sure it wasn't just mine that was like jelly.
Nope - it wasn't just mine. I felt like I didn't have much grounds for complaint.
Exchanging make up is hard enough over in the UK, never mind going back with a complaint like...."Well...its a bit wobbly." The SA will take you down before you even get the chance to whip our your receipt...
Wobbly Lipsticks are a crime against make up because…
1. Incase you haven’t noticed, Lipsticks are not particularly cheap these days. The last few I have purchased have all been in the rather steep £18 – £25 category which in my eyes means it should be *perfick*
2. A wobbly lipstick makes me feel insecure about how rough I can be with it. I had the most, and I mean most beautiful cool toned glossy rose lipstick from MAQUillage and it wobbled so I always had to be very careful with it. I could never twist up more than the tip.
One day I was slapping the make up on, SNAP! Off it came at the base. That’s the thing about wobbly lipsticks – they always feel like they are teetering on the edge.
3. When you shake the lipstick in its barrel it makes a noise. That’s annoying.
4. It has negative effects on your relationship especially when you can’t let go of the fact that your new lipstick is perfect but wobbly, and tell your other half about it over and over again until he loses his rag and takes the lipstick back for you to exchange for something else…..oh wait. This is the solution!
In conclusion….
Am I just being super anal about this? If a lipstick is pretty much sound, is the wobble really a problem?
Do you prefer wobbly lipsticks? Do you like wobbly food as well?

Wobbly lipsticks make me cringe. When I buy something that expensive I expect it not to wobble inside the tube and make a stinking mess. I just hate it when my makeup gets damaged.

I’m a gloss girl, so I only have a handful of lipsticks and only a couple wobble slightly, one each from Barry M and Nivea Beauté. About half of my lippies are the kind in a very narrow tube, like Clinique Almost Lipstick and L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Shine Gelee, and those are rock solid.
I’d say, if the wobbling affects the application you should get refunds without much hassle. After all you’d never accept it if the pump of an expensive foundation splattered product all over, right?

Ahh wobbly lipsticks are like the bane of my existence!! I’m really unnaturally rough with lipsticks and have broken many.
In all honesty though, I never return anything cause the SAs make me nervous XD

I’ve had this problem with the super pretty Lavshuca Lip Jewellery lipsticks. The packaging is so gorgeous and makes me want to reapply frequently but the damn lippie broke! I would never use an imperfect lipstick in public!!

it’s a huge pet peeve! may be even worse than a lipstick that dries out your lips..because yes, it’s the perfect lipstick, and then you’re always worrying that it will break off–which it often does. My Sonia Rykiel one does, and it drives me up the wall.

ive succesfully reattached a couple of broken lipsticks by gently heating the base of a broken stick and then sticking it back to its base and then popping in the fridge to set.
of course…would be nice if they didnt break in the first place! But with wobbly ones , i tend to gently break them so i can fix them again!

At the top of this article, just below the title, there is a picture of lips applying lipstick. By any chance, would you know the brand and the color of that lipstick, it is just gorgeous! I am looking into bying a shade exactly like that.
