So many lip balms, so little time.

I am inundated with lip balms and god knows I need them with my dry, chaffed lips. I am very particular though – I like them to feel 100% smooth, almost creamy.

Whilst I have lip balms in lots of textures, my favourite is the type that feels nourishing without too much gloss.

So I was happy to try out some lip balms from Bonbon, a cute new company specialising in lip balms, currently with 9 flavours to choose from.

Like Lip Balm? Love bonbon!.jpg

There’s Chocolate, Caramel, Original, Mandarin, Mint, Strawberry, Mojito, Pina Colada at the moment.

I chose Mojito, Pina Colada and Mint to try.

Adore, adore, adore the packaging. Perfect colour scheme, perfect logo, love it.

The product itself is also rather nice. For me the texture of a lip balm is everything. It mustn’t be gritty in anyway or too thin, nor too thick. I find that with a lot of homemade lip products, people overheat them resulting in a grittiness…

This is a real shame if someone has gone to the trouble of including lovely ingredients like Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Mango Butter etc. etc.

That problem doesn’t occur here. These lip balms have a beautiful texture – soft but not too soft, creamy but not overbearing. They are a really impressive texture, one of the best I have tried lately.

On top of that the site is transparent with what goes into each lip balm. For example, in my Mint Tingle is:

Ingredients: Butyrospermum parkii butter, Cocos nucifera oil, Copernicia cerifera wax, Tocopherol (Vit E), Mentha piperita, Limonene, Linalool

Yep, straightforward stuff (I’ll translate for you, Shea Butter, Coconut Oil, Carnauba Wax, Vitamin E, Peppermint (Oil I presume). Limonene and Linalool – occur naturally in essential oils.)

Lip Balms are £5 each and they are launching a cute sign up club where you can subscribe and they send you a new flavour every month.

Anyway check out the site here, I’d happily recommend these balms.

Nice balms with nice ingredients. What if you had to compare them with Burt’s bees? Better?
