With the right lipstick, the right packaging, the right texture, I still get crazy jittery excited.  I guess that’s how I know I am a real make up fan – a lipstick can do that to me.

When it comes to high end luxury it doesn’t come much more swish then Sisley.  Sisley’s Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick is a highly pigmented, rich, enduring (enduring?!) lip colour. I have this in a very bright L31 Rose Fuchsia which is so bold, that it works!

This was one of my holiday lipsticks – it’s super bright. Thankfully I have sunglasses.

They say:

A comfortable, high-coverage lipstick that protects your lips all day long. Soft and fine-textured, Phyto-Rouge Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick not only provides coverage, but also skin care benefits to lastingly hydrate and protect your lips. This very comfortable lipstick is available in exclusive shades and offers flawless, long lasting hold, coverage thanks to a glide-on, satiny texture that does not bleed, clean, precise definition with the bevelled, spiral form of the bullet.

The lipstick comes with a velvet pouch which I NEVER use, and is in a very heavyweight gold bullet – I love this – I hate it when a lipstick costs £20+ and it feels cheap.

The lipstick has these sharp edges which actually helps with application especially around the cupids bow I find! Check this out for art:

This lipstick is every bit as lovely as I thought it would be *sigh* – creamy, pigmented, long lasting and nice to apply.  I do think that long lasting lipsticks are drying, I haven’t used one that hasn’t given my flaky skin eventually.  This lipstick does NOT dry my lips out, it feels like a typically rich creamy lippy.

After this starts to fade or the initial gloss, it leaves a pinkish stain – I guess is to be expected as the colour is so bold! I definitely want another one of these in a nude shade that I can wear every day – I guess it’s one way to justify the price too!

Swatch – the colour looks nicer on the skin then it does in the tube where I think the pink looks a bit more dated then it actually is:

Verdict:

This is expensive – that is the only downside.  Otherwise it is such a lovely treat of a lipstick!

It costs £32 – you can buy it on any Sisley counter or House of Fraser online.

I get a bit frothy at the mouth over lipstick too, and incidentally, fuchsia is my ABSOLUTE favorite lipstick color. My most coveted shade of lipstick is Julie Hewett’s “Scarlett”, which (contrary to the name) is not a bright red but a shimmery, duo-chrome fuchsia that flashes violet in the right light; it’s very ‘Fashion Fair-circa-1993′, lol!
