I am addicted to gel eyeliners, so when I saw the three pretty colors from the Shu Uemura Primal collection I knew I had to get one.
There were three shades, Citrine (yellow) Turquoise (erm, turquoise) and Spinel (hot pink).
These are LE and come with the special packaging:
I am super fussy about my gel liners – I don’t like overly dry ones or flaky ones or the ones that take too long to dry. The Shu Uemura painting liner is lovely and this shade deserves a closer look:Turquoise is a beautiful turquoise-teal-green shade. Stunning. Creamy and soft, easy to apply and use. Similar to Bobbi Brown’s glorious gel liners but perhaps a little bit firmer.
The colour is also very opaque, so no need to paint over to get a stronger line, just paint and go.
The other two colours also appeal to me (Citrine and Spinel) although it will take me a while to locate it because the Shu Uemura counters near me are beyond rubbish at keeping things up to date. I always have to resort to online purchasing.
These gel liners are also waterproof and can be used for body art.
Swatch:
When the liner dries it stays put – completely smudge proof. When it dries, there is a sparkly edge to it (it isn’t just a matte blue) which makes it look totally beautiful and flattering.
Shu Uemura’s cream eyeshadows are pretty disappointing (too hard and dry) but these gel liners are not.
Well worth picking up in all the different colours especially the LE ones whilst they are still around. Check out the range here.
