I am completely obessed with Eye Primers, so I bought one of these Urban Retreat ones for £7.95 from Boots.
Urban Retreat is the brainchild of some of the beauty experts in the UK.
They Say:
Created by George Hammer, Urban Retreat is the ultimate destination for the beauty enthusiast. We have two core locations situated on the fifth floor of Harrods and Harvey Nichols in Manchester, as well as our online store Beautique.com and a diffusion arm called UR Beautiful based in Kingston upon Thames.
These beauty havens provide a wealth of luxury treatments and services, such as Crème de la Mer facials, Thalgo Body Wraps, Shu Uemura Hair Cermonies and Methode Jeanne Piaubert Body treatments. In addition, you will find the finest selection of hair and beauty brands, including la Prairie, Kerastase, Dermalogica, Essie, Clive Christian, Diptyque and Laura Mercier.
Sounds impressive huh?
Anyway, I got testing this primer. It is a light fleshy colour, like Urban Decay Primer Potion. It actually worked quite well BUT, it is VERY dry textured and not in a good way.
Even though my tube is newish, I had to really scrape the sides to get sufficent product out. Then it was dry and gloopy. It was moderately easy to blend but this product is very very similar to UDPP but even dryer and gloopier. It has no blending benefits at all and the tube is quite an awkward shape to get sufficent product out.
The price point is also not good – at £8 you could just pay a little bit more for the rather good UDPP or the even better Too Faced Shadow Insurance. Hell, you could even buy Art Deco for£6 or Bare Ecsentuals for £11.
Just don’t buy this – it’s really pretty bad. I have only had mine for a month or too and its like a dried up old paste, not even worth keeping. Yak.
