I was sent this Organix Self Heating Coconut Oil hair treatment to test out a while ago. I am all for hair treatments for my dry, dry hair, so was mucho happy to test it out.

I like the fact that the Organix range is paraben free and the shampoos are SLS free. Its also quite an affordable range at around £5 or less.

This particular product had me because it supposed to be self heating – you have to rub it between your hands before you apply. I did this but to be honest, there was only a mild heat sensation – no head sauna for me.

It smells quite nice, like coconuts, although there is added parfum. Its a light oil, you work it in the hair and wash it out…yes it works pretty damn well. My hair look shinier, it felt softer and its a quick treatment to do in comparison to ones that expect you to leave them on for 20 minutes…

They Say:

Weightless coconut oil and organic coconut milk heals and replenishes your hair with ultra whipped egg white proteins for hydration and balance.

This totally unique self heating formula is an advanced technology which helps heal your hair. It’s a healing blend of organic active ingredients which is all you need for moist, smooth and seductive hair in one irresistible formula.

This is the ingredients list:

The problem I have here is that I absolutely adore virgin coconut oil as a treatment. Nothing beats it – you buy it in the solid form, it smells like heaven, it works something gorgeous in your hair (get the VIRGIN stuff, its better than the processed stuff which is a lot cheaper).

Between the two, natural virgin coconut oil wins. However – the Organix treatment is a lot easier to deal with than a solid block of oil, and is a quick fix so I would still recommend it for ladies who like intensive hair treatments like me, on the go.

This sounds really convenient. You’ve reminded me that I should try virgin coconut oil too.

I’m surprised to find out Organix is available in the UK. I purchased some of the silicon serum at Tar-jay a while back, but I have yet to try the stuff out. I much prefer Hask’s Pure Shine Frizz Remedy; for $5, it smooths and softens my hair like nothing else I’ve tried (and I’ve tried quite a few frizz-fighting products).
