Love Guerlain. Such a pretty, pretty old school range, a tad expensive but really nice. They tend to do good discounts too come the New Year sales. I bought this pretty, pretty Guerlain Meteorites Light Diffusing Perfecting Primer on eBay for about £20 (was about £40 in the shops):

This gel primer has little balls in it – ahem – with light reflecting properties inside. They pretty much stay firm until you use the pump bottle to get the product out.

They say:

This gel formula is the first makeup base with pearls of light, it contains an exclusive, color-control base to camouflage blemishes and discoloration, and pearlescent extracts to capture and reflect light, blurring the appearance of fine lines without adding shine.

The texture is a light gel and one pump is enough for the whole face. Its got a nice texture that rubbed in quickly into the skin:

I love primers. Have tons of them. My preference is usually the creamier textures that cover pores and hydrate. Gel primers I find are better at smoothing the skin and at controlling oil.Spread out on the skin:

Afterwards. The skin glows in a subtle way – its not a disco ball look, it takes away a lot of the oily bits and smooths out the skin. Its not the best for covering pores though, nor will it cover any major discolouration/imperfections.

But its a fresh feeling, good for everyday, light primer:

On the skin you can see it doesn’t tone down redness too much but it adds a glow. I would use this with a light foundation of top, something nice like Clinique Perfectly Real I think…

Verdict:

Everyone should buy one just cos it looks so damn good on your dressing table.

Like I said, it feels great on the skin and is a great every day one to use but its not going to be heavy duty and even out all your imperfections in one go.

You can get it from Sephora, or wherever Guerlain is sold (like Debenhams!)
