I was sent some bits and pieces from the Boots No 7 collection called the Sun Drenched Collection.

There’s the Bronzer, the Eyeshadow Quad and Sun Drenched 22ct lip gloss.

The packaging is very golden:

The Sun Drenched Collection is Limited Edition….

The quad is a bronzy combination of brown, gold, bronze and silver. The bronzer is completely matte and has variations of bronze, and the lip gloss is a sheer peach with some gold pieces.

They say:

Our four shimmering, lustrous shades blend perfectly over your lids to create a bold, beautiful metallic sheen.
Molten and deeply pigmented, the sun-drenched shades help to highlight bronzed holiday skin.
Infused with our special blend of pomegranate and passion flower.

The eyeshadow swatches:

Now these colours are just my kind of shades but I would say that the eyeshadow textures are a little harder than I’d like.

Having said that, I had no problem layering the shadows:

It was quite easy to use – just a little crumbly.

The Lip Product has real 22ct gold in it which is a cute touch. There’s two shades, Golden Peach and Golden Rum (a dark vampy purple). The idea is that they are day and evening colours!

This lip gloss is very very sheer – almost clear on me. The gold leaf is a sweet touch but this is what it looks like on the lips – its a bit too chunky to be mistaken for glitter. I’m not sure it works, even though the product itself is nice and hydrating and smells good:

Perhaps the Golden Rum is a better choice, since you can get some pigment out of it.

Next is the matte bronzer which I was really excited about. Love a good matte bronzer – these days there are quite a few around – the Dior Matte Bronzer, Guerlain’s in Shade 20, Too Faced Chocolate Bronzer etc.

(Here were my top 5 picks from last year!)

How does the No 7 bronzer fit in?

Well its extremely soft textured.

I daresay its a little crumble and bitty. A little swipe and all this product comes loose:

Swatched on the hand:

Honestly? My Dior and Guerlain Matte bronzers are easier to blend and apply and more flattering on the skin. However – the Dior and Guerlain cost me at least £25 each – this No 7 Bronzer is only £13 and it does a decent job once you blend it in:

So if you are looking for an affordable matte bronzer, I would say give this one a go.

Overall the Boots No 7 Sun Drenched Collection is very summery, its quite nice although I’m not knocked out by anything in particular.

Have you tried this collection?

the eyeshadow palette looks wonderful on you and yea I thought the gold was glittery too. Somewhat strange to see yellow flakes on the lips, might look like cake crumbs. lol

I love the eyeshadows they look so pretty, not to keen on the bronzer though! I think using both the eyeshadows and bronzer is a overdoing it a bit tbh. Looks good on you but id look like an oompa loompa lol

I thought those eyeshadows looked hideous in the pan but swatched and on they look really good, not sure what they will look like on my pale as hell skin though… Not sure about the lipgloss, it really does look like cake or biscuit crumbs lol
