I have such a thing for Primers (it seems like I have a thing for everything, but please, bear with me!).

I love eyeshadow primers, lip primers and foundation primers – anything that makes the application smoother and easier, anything that makes the my base last longer.

I was gifted this rather from Pixi:

I believe this comes in two colour variations, Evenskin 1 and Evenskin 2. I have Evenskin 2 which is a warm bronze shade.

They say:

Ultimate primer to neutralize and smooth uneven skin tone leaving a luxurious lustre finish

Even, flawless skin tone is the sign of youthful healthy skin. Sometimes we need a little help with the glow from within. This primer is the perfect solution; the formula is loaded with skin loving ingredients. Formula contains powerful anti-aging and skin fortifying benefits. Formula suitable for all skin types.

I like Pixi packaging – I find the green with brown-beige quite flattering!:

The primer comes in a solid glass jar with a pump. Immediately my thought is that it resembles a foundation rather than a primer, and that the tone is quite a strong warm bronze.

The texture is fairly rich and thick. This worried me a little – I have combination skin and foundation does slide of my face. An overly rich primer will only make the chances of ‘slippage’ higher – this is quite a nourishing base!

The shade is a bronze pearly type hue:

This kind of tone I really like on my warm skin, although if you were very pale, I wonder if this would look a bit orange. Evenskin 1 which is more of a pale white pearl may be better.

But in all honesty – I really like this primer.

A lot.

Why?

Because I think it does a great job of making the skin look even, smooth and glowy. I have been a rush in the mornings lately and I had to slap this on and it works pretty well. If you already have nice skin, I reckon this could be all you need with a bit of concealer.

My skin can be splodgy and red so I prefer to use a bit of base with it – in which case I have to use this stuff in smaller quantities so that they don’t end up sliding off too early.

Verdict:

I really like this primer!

It isn’t pore smoothing, it isn’t for giving you a long lasting base. It is perfect though for a quick, glowy look, and as I said earlier, if you can get away with a light base I’d recommend using this on its own with concealer where you need it! It’s a really nice look.
