I also have Tend Skin, which basically does the same kind of thing:
They Say:
Tendskin Solution is an aspirin-based lotion and is the most effective way to reduce and prevent ingrown hairs. Tendskin can be used on the legs, underarms, bikini line and face quite safely.
Tendskin Solution works by gently exfoliating the skin to release trapped hairs so they can grow freely. Tendskin works to release hairs that are all ready trapped but also helps prevent others from in-growing and becoming trapped.
Tendskin Solution comes in three sizes and is very easy to use on dry skin. Results can be seen within 24 hours of the first Tendskin application.
Ingredients
Isopropyl Alcohol, Water (reverse osmosis), Propylene Glycol, Acetylsalicylate, Glycerin, Cyclomethicone.
Now, let me start by saying I am not an overly hairy mary, but sometimes, a lady need to tidy….down there. Razor bumps are ugly, painful and just a pain in the ass. Unlike our male counterparts, there is no discreet way ease a lady itch whilst conducting in normal day to day activity.
PFB Vanish – this comes in a handy roller ball and I have never bought the full sized item as I don’t do that much hair removal but the sample sized ones last for ages anyway. You can get these from eBay for about £4 with shipping, otherwise a full sized one is about £20.
This product is FABULOUS. I’ve used it for areas that have thick hair and thick skin and it still does wonders – the next day, the redness has died down and hair has managed to wiggle its way out of the follicle. On overly sensitive areas or overly sensitive bits is that it can sting a little for a few moments. Beware, delicate little flowers!
Tend skin on the other hand cost me about £13 and came in a blue bottle. Quantity wise this seems like great value cos you get a lot for the money.
This product is pretty dire. It is less handy than the roller ball, although this means that you can share this product. I didn’t find that it calmed the redness down at all, and barely helped with the issue of ingrown hair – so much so that I stopped using it for a while. Another thing is that it stings like HELL. It is so painful to use, it had me rolling on the floor, howling.
I had mine for about 3 months (bought from fresh of course) and it began to stink like sour vinegar…time for bin bins! But I am disappointed because it’s shelf life wasn’t long at all, and the expiry date wasn’t untill 2010.
Overall: I’d highly recommend PFB Vanish if you get razor bumps but anyone with overly dry or sensitive skin should use lightly and with caution.

Thanks for the great review. I have some PFB vanish, it works really well. I just noticed the expiry date is 06/08 though (honestly I thought I’d only had it a few minutes!) and was wondering if I should go with the Tend, since that is what my spa carries. I really like the rollerball on the PFB as well.
My esthetician did warn me not to use anything like these products for 24 hrs after the waxing. I’ve been using some Tea Tree oil that I had, and it is wonderful and soothing. (this was my first waxing)
Now I just have to try and figure out where I bought the PFB.

Hmm. I haven’t had any trouble with dryness or flakiness. The sting I can mostly manage – its not too bad, but I don’t think I’d use it on freshly waxed skin!

PFB is amazing. I have course curly hair and baaaad ingrowns especially in the crease between my leg and groin which have lef many scars =[
I got mine from ebay and although havent had time for a full brazillian since I bought it I did my own bikini wax and the results are incredible. So much less redness! And no pain! I had tried another one cant remember the name. But it was VERY much a liquid, which came with a shampoo type cap (what the hell) So I put a spray top on instead but it stung so bad, especially when it dripped onto certain sensitive bits.
PFB is perfect!
