Fruity Clean Skin: Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash Review & Cleanser Chat

My mum and aunties have no time for luxurious skincare – they are good old Olay and Neutrogena woman and sometimes, I do have to ponder if simple is best.

They used to use a Neutrogena in a light blue opaque bottle – anyone else remember it? It smelt like fairy liquid but it was their favourite product.

Of course I buy a lot of skincare and I get sent things to try, so I am always testing new things out. Sometimes cheep and cheerful is best.

So I was actually a bit excited to get a sample of the Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash – it takse me back to the days of stealing my mums face wash, followed by a thick, expensive coat of her Olay face cream!

To be honest I haven’t used Neutrogena skincare for a long, long time. I was very surprised by this face wash – it’s excellent. For one thing, it doesn’t feel tight or uncomfortable AT ALL, and leaves my skin soft and fresh.

I get the feeling that it helps with extra sebum (get me!) on the nose and chin – or at least it did with me.

It smells like really really zingy grapefruit – it’s a nice smell, a bit OTT but nice.

I think this comes in Original (its orange coloured and plain) and retails for about £5-6. Totally worth it, and I have been using this as a staple part of my cleansing.

Skincare babble:

I am rotating 4 cleansers of different formulas at the moment – this one, Shiseido Extra Gentle Foam, Fancl Cleansing Oil, Bliss Clog Dissolving Cream Cleanser.

Bliss Cream Cleanser every day without fail cos its a nice massaging cleanser and smells lovely followed by Shiseido Extra Gentle Foam OR the Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit.

If I have warpaint on, I use Fancl Cleansing Oil or ANY cleansing oil first because it really gets the crap off.

I have 2 new cleansers to use at some point – Biore Make Up Off & Foam (that’s the name!) and Skinfood Parsley and Mandarin! Erm…one step at a time!

What cleanser are you using?

I use the Philosophy High Foaming Daily Cleanser. I actually used to use a Clean & Clear face wash until I needed something new. I love the philosophy one – so gentle on my sensitive skin :)

I want to try this Grapefruit Cleanser so bad, but I already am using 2. Biore Ice Cleanser, Neutrogena Calming Cream Cleanser and Clean&Clear Morning Burst. I’ve used the Biore one since forever- really helped my acne. The Clean&Clear one smells awesome and the Neutrogena one was my very first cream cleanser ever.

I love Shiseido’s d-program Conditioning Wash, which I picked up from Japan. Unfortunately, it ran out a few weeks back and they don’t sell that skincare line overseas :(

This sounds delish. However this doesnt seem to very nourishing, is it.
I’ve got super dry skin and i feel I need to use a moisturising face wash.
Really happy about the one I use (botanics boots with a bit of honey and rice stuff in it) A bit bored of it now. I think i’ve bought it about 5 times. I must say I use loads of it and even use it for armpits. any moisturising face washes you would recommend?
