Another product from my lovely Canmake Haul is the Canmake Shading Powder in Danish Brown.

Shading Powder is basically the same thing as contouring powder! Of course, you don’t need a special powder for it, you can use any matte brown eyeshadow, blusher etc. (in a whole host of tones) to contour.

But I like specific products with specific solutions? Why? Because I’m specific!

There are two shades to choose from:

It was a clear choice for me because I like a more natural effect and Burnt Brown has far too much red for it for me. I can imagine that it would work nicely on darker NW40+ skintones.

This cute powder comes in a little case with a completely useless brush. The product is a soft powder without shimmer.

Here is the powder. If you aren’t used to contouring, then it probably looks mighty scary.

It also looks like a chocolate bar – yum!

Ok it looks dark. Scary. It is quite pigmented so I would be lying if I said you could go to town with the blusher – you need to use a light hand!

The nylon brush included is useless, by the way. I’d rather have a mirror.

The shade itself is nutty brown with which is more cool toned on the skin that it looks in the pan but is still not as flat as one of my favourites, Illamasqua’s Blusher in Mischief.

But overall, its a good colour, it blends quite well, its not quite sweep and go but its a good no brainer product if you…don’t want to use your brain.

On the cheek:

Applied darker, to show you the effect:

Verdict:

Its cheap, I hate the packaging, I hate the brush but the product is really quite good if you want to buy something specifically or shading. I would say the tones probably work best on warm toned skins than cool.

The Canmake products look gorgeous, but all of the color names make me hungry. Do tell, do they smell as good as they sound?

Off topic, but I do like the eyeshadow you’re wearing in that picture.

It does look like a good contour product.

I bought this but was sorely disappointed that it was a warm brown! The shade in the pan looks so cool-toned!! :(
Should have checked out your pictures before I made the purchase, coz I can see that on your face that it’s definitely a warm brown.
