I love gel eyeliners! There are so many great ones on the market these days, but for a truly waterproof finish, I look to Japanese brands the most.

I was looking for a particular black gel liner a few days and ended up buying 4 different typed in the process. D’oh!

They say:

Shining gel type eyeliner makes it easy to draw any type of eye lines. Smudge free formula. The flat brush comes with the eyeliner creates a clear bold line or soft line at ease. Fast drying, water-proof type.

I saw the gel liners in Black, Silver and Gold. I bought Silver and Gold. Both come with brushes which are actually very very good for precise application.

Turns out the black isn’t a matte black, its infused with little sparkly bits. Which is very pretty does it does make me worry about if its a potential irritant or not.

The silver is a metallic, cool toned silver – very nice indeed!

The pots aren’t massive. They’re smaller than Bobbi Brown Gel Liners and Lancome ones, but to be honest its enough because I’m finding that my gel liners are hardening and drying up within a year.

Swatches:

Although these gel liners aren’t dry textured, they aren’t 100% buttery smooth. So they need a bit of warming up ideally, to get them gliding as nicely as possible.

As for being waterproof – I would say they stay in place incredibly well, and I would even chance a swim with it on but I wouldn’t rub my eyes after – its not magic gel liner from magic magic land, but it is about as long lasting as they will come.

I’ve used the black and silver here – the silver is rather crumbly and difficult to get a good line out of, but its great as an eyeshadow base.

Overall, I’d totally recommend Palty if you struggle with gel liners staying in place. I paid about £8 for it from the seller Alphabeauty in eBay (very good seller).

Hi! Love your site (am now a regular), and I’m really interested in the eyeliners, and you’ve mentioned a bunch of other stuff from Alphabeauty – but I can’t find the seller on Ebay at all :S I’ve found other Ebay sellers you’ve featured, except for this one. Has the seller shut up shop recently?

I’m not affiliated with Alphabeautyuk by the way ladies, they are excellent sellers. Shipping is not as fast as Adambeauty or Facial Shop though BUT they are highly professional x
