I spotted this cute kit from NYX on eBay and decided to buy one to try out. I have a few brow powders but not many that come with wax, and even if they do, they aren’t very compact.

The NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder comes with 2 shades and a wax. It also comes with some applicators (spoolie and stiff brush).

The shades:

I chose Blonde – purely because I hate brows that are too dark so I always go for the lightest option. My second choice would be taupe/ash because my eyebrows aren’t really a warm colour, they are black.

Here is the palette – it’s not very good looking:

Although it is a bargain at $6 or in my case, £7 from eBay including shipping.

The brow pigments are a good texture – not too dark, not too pigmented otherwise it would be slightly heavy on:

The clear wax also works in keeping the brows in place and glossy. I apply the wax before the powder if I want extra adhesion.

The applicators are average, the stiff brush is a bit rubbish, it flicks powder everywhere.

The blonde I think was a good choice for me because I really do just need the smallest touch of colour. At first the powder seemed a bit crumbly – its not the *best* brow powder I’ve ever tried (I’d say Anastasia’s is better) but its pretty decent for the price.

On the brow. If you are looking for a cheap and cheerful all in one brow kit, this one is a great choice. Once again, not my first choice necessarily – I think I’m still committed to my waxy pencil for now.

Like I said, well worth trying out if brow product are your thing and you want a decent, well priced brow product.

I bought mine from eBay fro about £7 with shipping.
